I was listening to a Blue Floyd show yesterday with BOjr. on bass and Woody on guitar with Jimmy Herring and Marc Ford.Herring's easy to pick out,and I assume the slide is Ford but there is also some great second lead and rhythm work that's very tasty.Any thoughts on Woody's guitar playing? I understand he was quite a collector, but never say him play anything live but a bass or mandolin.

I was at the Blue Floyd show at Variety Playhouse a long time ago....
Woody played guitar (it was on a stand) and he also played steel guitar.
My sweetie and I spoke with him after the show about his guitar work and
how great it was. He said "I was a guitar player in a former life."
I miss Woody.....

As far as I know, the only studio recording of Woody playing guitar is on one of my favorite albums, Kevn Kinney's "The Flower and the Knife". Its a mostly acoustic CD that Warren produced in 2000. Warren is all over the CD and there are a number of guests like Edwin McCain, John Popper, Derek, and Woody on mandolin, on a few tracks, and lead guitar on one track called "Dirty Angels". After a few times through, I fell in love with this CD and I still play it regularly.
