Clearly we can expect more than just John Hammond for the final night of this amazing tour. Who else do you think is going to play with the band tonight and does anyone have any song predictions?

I have yet to hear a Layla live and in person.

Seriosuly doubt we see Clapton.

Chuck is in Japan with the Stones, so forget that one.

I wouldn't mind seeing Robert Randoph show up again.

To be honest, I dont care if there are any quests at all.
My GOD this is the ALLMAN BROTHERS BAND!!!!!

We dont need no stinking guests

Well, cept for maybe Susan

Why is everyone so fixated on guests?

I mean, I love guests at the shows, and having someone "different" certainly makes it interesting and fun and special for the audience and the band alike.

But I don't know, maybe it's the old deadhead in me, but I go to hear and see the music. I don't care what songs they play or who happens to show up.

It's the Allman Brothers Band at the Beacon for god sake. It doesn't get any better than that. Peace, love and music. And I'll go home with a huge smile

Guests are fun additions to the band... I go to as many ABB shows over the summer, so when its time for the beacon run its exciting to see something new. And plus its the Beacon- any little addition justs seems so much better there. tonight is the last night, so whoever does come out, or if no one comes out except for JH, its still going to be AMAZING.

I'm gonna side with Rob on this one, if the Brothers bring it like they have been that will be ok with me. Sometimes, just somtimes the guests have a way of taking the show out of it's flow, last night being a prime example. John Hammond has a strong connection with the brothers and Butch expressed it well as did John, but it was uneven in my estimation.
Robert Randolph on the other hand did a fine job on Love Light despite some obvious technical problems that distracted him for half the song.

So, bring on the Brothers, bring on Blue Sky and Layla and we'l put this run away as one for the ages.

I enjoyed the show on the 18th that much more, Brian Stoltz was a great guest, but I'm glad he only came out for one song and the rest of the show was just Allmans.. made the show a little more "evening with" than, Allman Brothers and Friends.

What are the chances for a Franklin's tonight? I'd take that song as one of my top picks for tonight.

Yep, I agree...GREAT show that night and Stoltz was terrific!...but we also got LOADS of prime ABB. All the shows have been killer and unique but I bet when all is said and done, the 18th will absolutely go down in the top 3 shows out of the 14. The 2nd set was completely out of this world!...

All the Guests have been beyond what we could have expected, but even if the final night was ALL ABB...bring it on!

Last night was my 10th and final night of this year's Beacon run (I missed both Monday shows and this last Tuesday show) and lemme tell ya - there ain't a finer band in this land!!! WHEW!!!

Saturday the 18th remains my personal favorite, with Thursday the 23rd and Tuesday the 14th coming in a close 2nd and 3rd.

The guests have been outstanding - from Hubert Sumlin on opening night, to Gary Rossington, Elvin Bishop, Pinetop Perkins, Robben Ford, Taj Mahal, Ben Harper, Bruce Willis, Peter Frampton, Susan multiple times and all the horn players (especially Ron Holloway), it's been a great run - but i also agree with those that say they'd like to see one night of just pure ABB - and hopefully that will be tonight (unfortunately i won't be there), although at this point i wouldn't bet any money on it. It seems the musicians are just lining up to get a chance to perform with this emsemble (which, in my opinion, is the best ABB band since 1971)

Thank you ((((((Derek, Warren, Gregg, Otiel, Butch, Jaimoe and Marc))))))) - i'll see ya when you come next time

Blue Sky for the encore hopefully. Does anyone remember the song Back Where It All Begins? They never play that... maybe they'll surprise us tonight. As for the guests, Susan probably. Not sure about the others.

Mainly cause that's one of Dickeys songs, I know the ABB plays a lot of Dickey, not that big of a deal, but I can't see them breaking that one out... it's like Ramblin' Man, I think Blue Sky was as far as the were gonna go, and it's rare when they even play that.

The secret guest is a guy named "Derek"-but we all know that Eric is Derek. I think there is a better chance of Dickey sitting in w/ the band, or somebody finding the 6/26/71 tape than EC joining the ABB at the Beacon.

I agree, Finsky. For the record, I don't believe for a second that Clapton will be there.

The whole Clapton thing is just too funny. A year ago on this site, he was a washed up bum. Now he's the greatest thing ever that just has to sit in with the band....too funny...

They don't do songs so closely associated with Dickey.

Wharfy,
Great seeing you again and going out for pizza after 3/17. Hello to Jason also. I liked 3/18 a lot and there was only Brian Stioltz for a couple of songs, and it was great, but a couple of other nights sounded like they were fun with a number of guests (3/11 etc.). I'm rarely sorry for moving from NJ to Co , but I am jealous of your ability to go to multiple shows and venues!

Well, cept for maybe Susan

I love this band. Especially at the Beacon. Guests, no guests. It doesn't matter. The band members are fantasatic as people and as musicians. Last night Gregg came forward to the front of the stage after the show and someone gave him flowers. He was very appreciative. And then he proceeded to shake a number of fans hands. It was very nice to see the love.

Well I must go now as I think they are starting at 7 insted of 8.

Clapton, no Clapton, it won't matter. This band is great.
