Little Feat Rocks...!

I haven't seen them ever live... but heard many a great shows... my fav live show is still 1973-04-10 (it's on the archive)... but I listen to a show (can't remember the date) quite often from 2003 I think...

I will hopefully be seeing them as soon as I can...

Little Feat is one of the bands I was very fortunate to catch towards the very beginning of their success. First saw them right after Dixie Chicken was released at the Main Point in Bryn Mawr, PA. I saw them last year at Jazzfest and they were incredible. Tommy Malone from Subdudes (who opened for them), came out and lent some of his excellent slide playing, to the mix. They were at the top of their game, even without their original leader.

I saw them that tour also, in Daytona Beach. Like so many things, I discovered them backassward...started out with Let It Roll, then went on to the older stuff. Roll 'Em Easy is one of the most beautiful love songs I've ever heard...

Just caught them for the first time in 12 years, last week. Kept missing them when they were in my area. I think I would do some considerable travelling to see them next tour. Stellar show.

Saw them for the first (but not last) time in '77 I think at Shippensburg State College in PA right after WFC came out. I'll never forget it-Lowell was huge, but man, could he move. He had on white overalls and looked just like a Beach Ball. Sadly he was dead within two years.

I also saw them in '87 when I was in LA-I was standing on the Santa Monica Pier at about 6 PM and saw an ad in the paper for their show that night at the Pantages Theater at Hollywood and Vine and said to my friend, who had no idea who they were, "C'mon! We're going!" hopped in the car and sped up Sunset Blvd. Haggled with the ticket guy and got the last two seats (or so he said-he said it was sold out so we got two seats on opposite sides of the Theater-my friend had to sit by herself. Oh, well!) It was the Let It Roll tour and they brought out Eric Clapton and Bonnie Raitt for the encore, which I think was A Apolitical Blues.

I like the current version of the band, especially how they mix up the setlists, but there was nothing like the band with Lowell. He was amazing.

I agree. This is one band that I would like to see open for the Brothers. They'd have the crowd happy-jolly after their set, and set the tone for a great segue into the ABB set.

...and they play Europe, unlike another band mentioned above! They played a great show in Newport, Wales last year. First time I had seen them since The Who shows back in '75.

There is a live Little Feat album from the '70's that get ranked as the best live rock album of all time. I have been tempted to buy it but am just not sure I like their music. Are there any radio played songs I should remember hearing?
