Who caUGHT this? He was on around 7:55am . Great interview. DLR gained alot of credit from me after hearing this interview. Roth seemed to have good insight on Derek and the Brothers. Talked about how he was friendly with Tom Dowd. Very cool!

I just posted this question on www.vhlinks.com They've been talking on there about Dave's show since it started a few months ago. Mostly bad things. There usually is a link to catch each days show in it's entirety. You might be able to ckeck it out in the Main page section.....I would love to hear it. I understand Dave's a big ABB fan from way back. I wonder if he'll check out a show at the Beacon?

DTB and DLR- now there's a match made in heaven.
OWWW!!!!!!!!! (scissor kick)
"I've been tied.......OWWWWWWW..... to the whippin' post.....OWWWWWW!!!
(scissor kick)...take it away Derek....OWWWWW!!! (another scissor kick)....
(during drum solo, DLR flys across the stage on ropes & pully's and pauses to dance behind Jaimoe just before Butch hurls his kettle drum sticks at Roth)

sorry, I got carried away.

Roth's morning show is a mixed bag in general-but when he talks about music & the business itself, he's got some interesting things to say.

His interview with Derek was pretty good, IMHO. I was about to take a shower when I heard this, so it woke me up pretty good.

He asked some LEGIT questions, & he seems to know the ABB story pretty well. No Diamond Dave stuff-and DT was being pretty candid with it. I thought it was interesting on how he asked Derek about the current music he was listening to, Susan & family, the ABB legacy, The Beacon, & especially if Derek would share anything for the up & coming young musicians.

Jaimoe, the Tom Dowd portion of the interview was interesting-The Roth Man knows. He was giving Derek props for playing several hours straight last night.

Derek also mentioned briefly about the DTB equipment getting ripped off.

I saw DLR do a rare live appearance this past summer. It was one of the most "entertaining" live performances I've ever witnessed. He had a solid back-up band, his voice was in fine shape, and he was a freakin' riot.

I've heard a few snippets of Dave's show. It can definitely be bizarre at times. However, when he gets chatting about music and the business end of it, he can be quite enlightening. I would love to hear the interview with Derek. So I take it he saw the ABB at the Beacon last night?

I walked out of a Van Halen concert in 1985 because I didn't get it. All the screaming and yellin by Dave, threatening to kick somebody's arse, hell I was on the top row, I thought he was going to start a riot. I was so gullable at 26. I returned to the sanctuary of my car and a cassette of Fillmore East.
