Thanks, Reneed. Triple bypass tomorrow morning. He's very cool with it, as much grief as has happened here of late, hardly worth a mention. Thanks.

Join us for a pre-show gathering at the El Myr, next door to the Variety, around 5:30ish.

I need a roll call estimation, so if you guys can PM or post a roll call by 4pm, I'll know how much birthday cake to bring!

We'll be celebrating fast43's birthday Jawja style!

Tinsley's enroute from Charlotte's scorching show at Double Door last night!! Tinsley has the best musicians and Tinsley sounds the best that I think that I have EVER heard him....and I've been seeing him for years at the Double Door. Dont miss tonight's show if you're in the Atlanta area.

'Bout broke my heart riding out of Atlanta tonight, knowing there was a family get-together just down the road......Mom on board, age 83, not a fit! Coming back from the surgery on Thurs. she asked, "Does this thing have a radio?" Damn sure has a CD player.
Fillmore that night, 3/21/03 tonight. Brother's deal was quite a bit worse than expected, but bottom line is he's going to be just fine. Thanks for the well-wishes.

Got to make the run again tomorrow, hope there's some reviews when I get home.

Randy, you were missed and I hope your ears were burnin'! We were thinkin' about 'cha!

Teresa, wish you could have come up for this one, it was a great time! Yes, we made it into the Playhouse for BGUG, great show by Rev. Jeff and the boys. I enjoy their music. It's energetic and fresh.... very eclectic with an air of the Grateful Dead meets Uncle Dave Macon. Denza says, "It's kinda like Bruce Hornsby without the piano!" Yeah, kinda!

I would really love to see these guys in an outdoor festival setting. Btw, there were no Colonel sightings last night. I'd like to thank BGUG for the I Know You Rider! Schweet!

Tinsley Ellis, lawd have mercy! It's been several years since I've seen Tinsley's show and this was the second live show I've seen. I have several live Tinsley audio recordings and I'll just tell ya, this guy is incredible, folks! He was smokin' last night. He showcased his live album and what a band he has! They don't mess around, it was one scorcher into another. This is what I enjoy most about Tinsley's show, he doesn't mess around, he gets right in there and cranks out the blues. This 4 piece band can "brang it"!

Tinsley spent a large portion of the show on the Fender and gave us two Derek and the Dominoes tunes, Why Does Love Have To Be So Sad and Key To The Highway, both played to perfection. From the live album and my aging memory we got Devil For A Dime, Quitter, Next Miss Wrong and a very acrobatic Double Eyed Whammy! Man, those boys are funkified! Thanks to Tinsley, Todd, Evil One and Jeff for a great party!

To meet the sweet, gentle, humble, Tinsley Ellis outside of music, you'd never believe the power that comes from him when he straps on his guitar until you witness it. He's an incredible talent. Folks, support live , independent music. Go see Tinsley and his band and pick up Highway Man live.

Tinsley, ya gotta do a live DVD for the days I need a fix! I really hope someone taped this one, I'd love to have a copy.

I'll echo Libby's sentiments here...BGUG was a good opening set for my mood last night and enjoyed them. The guitar player has that chicken strut down to a science...lol...a fun band.

I really dug the Tinsley show and wasn't prepared for how good this BAND is. What a fine bunch of players, every one of them! You can tell how much these guys are enjoying playing together and the it comes off strong in the music and in the vibe. My highest compliments to Todd, JB and The Evil One...you guys rip! Todd is one of the most entertaining keyboardists I've had the pleasure of seeing in long time. Tinsley, well the man just seems to get better the more time goes by. It occured to me last night how many years Bonnie Raitt paid her dues before she finally got the widespread recognition she deserved, Tinsley could well be the same kind of story. Smokin' stuff just seems to pour out effortlessly...Great tone and the man just comes to play..."brang it" indeed!! Go see 'em for yourself!!

In the brief moment I met Tinsley last night, I have to say how impressed I was as well by his extrememly kind and gentle nature. One of those no ego cats that just turns into a monster when he straps on a guitar and then just ever so humble in person. I never met Rory but I have to think he was kinda like that.

BTW, Tinsley if you read this, that jump you made last night caused quite stir there in the "family". The bets are placed as to when Warren or Derek might do one of those. LMAO.

Thanks to all for a fun night. Good to hang with Libby, Fast43 & TanDan. Ya'll are the best. Sorry you couldn't make it Randy, all the best to you and I hope the road smooths out for ya real soon. P&L.

Thanks for the reviews y'all. I'll pass on the good words. Only 13 more days til I get to see the BGUG boys.
Spring has sprung down here in Florida. Hope it stays warm for Wanee.
