Here's 3 Duane era shows (thanks spoonbelly and Boss2005) that don't seem to be offered very much around here. I'll take 5 for B&P or trade. Line up with #5 closing the door. Take any or all shows and PM for mailing info. Please send your package promptly.

1)

Allman Brothers Band - 03/20/70
The Aragon
St. Petersburg, FL 1 cdr

In Memory Of ELizabeth Reed, Don't Want You No More > Not My Cross To Bear, Whippin' Post, Mountain Jam

2)

Allman Brothers Band - 09/04/70
The Scene
Milwaukee, WI 2 cdr

Statesboro Blues
Trouble No More
DKMW
Dreams
YDLM
Liz Reed
Hoochie Coochie
Stormy Monday
LMBAH
Whipping Post

This is a B+ grade recording, but I think the sound quality does not prevent the enjoyment of this great show.

3)

Allman Brothers Band - 01/30/71
Fillmore West
San Francisco, CA 1 cdr

Trouble No More
ELizabeth Reed
Midnight Rider
Hoochie Coochie Man
Dreams
Hot 'Lanta
Whipping Post
Statesboro Blues

This is an especially good show with what I would definitely consider an A grade sound. Statesboro Blues is cut at the beginning.

Enjoy!

FYI...just to keep it real, the 3/20/70 Aragon is one of those infamous bogus/incorrectly traded shows. If I remember right it is usually the 3-13-70 in disguise.

Clay had posted this great info several months ago in the Trading Prefernces thread...

Thanks for that post Denza. I'm just getting back into trading and inventorying stuff I have and comparing it to what people have sent me and have come across a few of these anmolies. I'll take you're word as gospel. Though we all live in hope of uncovering some unheard , rare tape , after all these years, it's unlikely.
P.S. Sorry I missed this offer. I don't have that Milwuakee show. Any chance of a re-offer ?

James, and others looking for re-offers, please refer to what Denza has posted above . . .

Only one of the above 3 shows offered is a legitimate show, being the 09/04/70 show from the Scene in Milwaukee. Both of the other two shows are fakes, compiled by bootleggers from other recordings.

Please do not ask for or trade any shows that are not on the list posted above.

3/20/70 is a bogus show its actually another traded show but not 3/20/70 there are no tapes of that although a few still have it listed. I removed it from my list several years ago.

use if for a fresbie

Because I care I went and found that thread http://www.allmanbrothersband.com/modules.php?op=modload&name=XForum&am p;file=viewthread&tid=24221#pid548482
Anyone interested in the subject should look it over carefully.I, for one, will be looking over what I have and what I receive so that I do not perpetuate this stuff. I don't fault anyone who has B&Ped or traded stuff to me that is misdated. I'm sure it was done in good faith. I'm finding out just how hard it is to keep it straight, especially when there apparently are people who do it deliberately. I have been very eager to finish my little housecleaning so that I could make some offers to pay forward all the generosity I have experienced on this site since I joined a few months back. Perhaps the best thing for me to do is offer a well documented show while I research the rest.
One thing I won't be doing is using mislabeled CDs as a fresbie(sic). There are people in China starving for Duane Allman who would love to have it (as soon as I put the correct date on it !)

ATTENTION EVERYONE WHO GOT IN ON THIS OFFER Could you please PM me so we can work out what shows you want in replacement for these potentially bogus shows. If you haven't sent out the package yet then PM me anyway so we can work out the details. Thanks for the information everyone. I assure you I didn't mean to spread phony shows.

as colin said, of the three shows offered, the 9.4.70 is the only only one legit. and if i had to guess i'd say the 1/30/71 is a mixture of the 1/28 & 1/31 shows?

according to the database the abb played the fw on jan 28, 29, 30 & 31. and of these four dates, two completely different shows have been made public. the 28th & 31st. and to, there's a tape out there of a bill graham interview during a radio show, and at the end of the segment the announcer says, "and now we'll go into the allman brothers, dated jan 29, 1971 at winterland". the songs played are ydlm & whipping post, and neither one are from the 28th or 31st......so unless the announcer got the venue wrong, the 29th was actually from winterland. but either way there's a chance that maybe more of the 29th is out there somewhere?

It surely takes awhile to get familiar with all the traded shows when starting into the trading scene. I think Clays reference list there is a great start familarizing oneself with the shows available. The Fillmore West shows were mentioned in this thread which brings to mind some possibilities which I would like to kind of pick your collective minds on as sort of an unofficial poll. Lets say for the sake of the poll that all 4 ABB Fillmore West shows from Jan '71 run exist on soundboard tapes in the ABB archives. As stated earlier in the thread 2 of the shows (1/28/71 & 1/31/71) are freely traded already, as well as a 2 song partial from a radio broadcast of the 1/29/71 show. Suppose that all the shows from this run were made available for an archive release of the entire run. What would your thoughts be about releasing mastered soundboards of shows for the archive program that are already in circulation in some form via trading etc. Do you feel that these type releases would be supported? Lets also include in the discussion and poll, shows like a 3/13/70 soundboard mastered versus what circulates in the trades now. Post your thoughts right here in this thread and who knows what may transpire.................

I would support the release of those shows in the archive program from the bottom of my heart! Also 3/13/70 and other possible ones! Yes!!!

As the French say, "May we !" If I understand correctly, it's a no-brainer (my specialty) Get the music out there, properly dated. Yeah, Cupofjo, sounds like a LATFWest !

Even though I have almost all of the Duane era recordings, if any are released as an "Archive" soundboard I would gladly buy each and every one of them.

A four gig Fillmore West boxed set would be great . . . and that 3/13/70 show from the Warehouse is excellent . . . what I wouldn't give for a better quality version of that . . . and if you had the 5/2/70 show from Swarthmore

Yes, I think a Fillmore West box set would be supported well, as would any original line-up shows. I am buying all the archive releases. I think that the pace could be picked up also. Currently there is not even one release a year. I think that two releases a year would be supported fine. There should definately be a new archive release to coincide with every summer tour.

Count me in! I would line up to buy the Fillmore Box Set today.

My opinion is that it's great to have these shows that are traded, but if we can get a better quality more complete set from the archives, that would be even better. As said above... it's a no-brainer.

I would prefer un-released stuff. Something from 1979-1982 next, then a 90's. There are still lots of shows that the Arvhivist has that has never been recorded except at the board. Perhaps new orleans from last year the one Hophead raved about. With the Filmore East being a commercially released product already im not sure how much attention or what songs exactly would be added by a filmore archive box release?
