Hey brothers and sisters. I'm getting married in March and was wondering if Y'all had any suggestions for Allman/mule or related "love" songs that could be played at the reception.

Our wedding song was "Blue Sky" - We couldn't figure out how to dance to it respectably for the first dance so we chose "Angle Eyes" by the Jeff Healey Band for our first dance.

Congratualtions and best wishes for the future.

We used no ABB songs, but a bunch of John Lennon and Paul McCarney stuff, including Grow Old Along With Me, Love, Imagine (for the last dance) and Singalong Junk (looped during the wedding party intos at the reception...)

love felt inspiring enlighting lyrics has not been this bands forte as a rule, but the"Never knew how much I needed you" from Brothers of the road '81 is a heartfull attempt by Gregg to express his love to someone. I like the arrangement which is not an typical brothers one with a sax and female back up vocals. It can be found on "Stand Back" as well. This one has a little something for everyone.

Buy a bass boat instead.
On the serious side, congratulations

Don't Want You No More, Whipping Post, Wasted Words, Love the Posion, ...oh geez I'll get this right yet.......

Queen of Hearts, but some great low volume background music I think Little Martha.

Our's was Shining Star, the band did it just like the JGB used to do it too:

Honey you are my shining star
Don't you go away, oh baby
I wanna be right here where you are
Till my dying day, oh baby

So many have tried, tried to find
A love like yours and mine, oh baby
Don't you realise how you hypnotise me
Make me love you more each time, oh baby

Honey, I'll never leave you lonely
I'll give my love to you only, to you only
To you only

Feel so good when we're lying here next to each other
Lost in love, oh baby
Honey when we touch, I love you so much
You're all I ever dreamed of, oh baby

Honey, I'll never leave you lonely
I'll give my love to you only, to you only
To you only

Honey you are my shining star, don't you go away

Bride going down the aisle "You Look Wonderful Tonght" by Clapton
Bride and groom coming back down the aisle, depending on the atmosphere and length of the aise - "Blue Sky" or "Little Martha."

Brother Mark Smith beat me to it, thought of Never Knew How Much A Man Needed A Woman after reading your post scp2569 -- maybe Queen of Hearts to, from Gregg's Laid Back album.
Congratulations on your wedding & best wishes.

I used to love her, but I had to kill her
I used to love her, but I had to kill her
I had to put her
Six feet under
And I can still hear her complain

I used to love her, but I had to kill her
I used to love her, but I had to kill her
I knew I miss her
So I had to keep her
She's buried right in my back yard

I used to love her, but I had to kill her
I used to love her, but I had to kill her
She bitched so much
She drove me nuts
And now I'm happier this way

I used to love her, but I had to kill her
I used to love her, but I had to kill her
I had to put her
Six feet under
And I can still hear her complain

I always thought "They Love Each Other" by the Dead would be a cool wedding tune.

We danced to "Sweet Soul Vibe" by Jimi Vaughn. The second choice was his brother's "Pride And Joy".

Can't belive it's been almost 10 years...and she still love me.
