If you read The Chronicles of King Curtis, the author mentions that there is a 60 min VIDEO of this radio show. Does anyone have a copy or anyone know where to find one? I reckon we all need to see this if it's out there.

I was wondering what the four digit serial number at the end of each listing was about.

Yeh, that guy is a bottom feeder no doubt. About a year ago he asked me if I would send him my complete dvd collection. His pitch was that he had a market overseas, and wanted to split the profits 70/30, with his end being the 70%. I explained to him that I was born at night, but just not last night.

These two segments will be in the next compilation I'm currently working on, should be on this board sometime next month.

If A&R still exist, or WPLJ-FM in NY, maybe someone there might know about a video.

But then again, trying to get someone to respond is another thing.

I have this footage too. It's from old TV program (Johnny Cash Show) in 1970, so the film quality is not so good but very enjoyable. Young Clapton among big talents and he seems to feel so nervous.
Songs order is
1. It's too late ( Derek & The Dominos only )
2. MC & interview of Eric and J.Cash
3. Match Box ( w/ J.Cash & C.Perkins )

I have 2 versions of this. One is considerably better than the other, but IMHO it would be fascinating enough to watch this little slice of history even if it required X-ray glasses. As Masahiko said, EC does look nervous (and somewhat in awe) on "Matchbox" with JC & Carl Perkins, but man does Bobby Whitlock sing his a$$ off on "It's Too Late."

WPLJ still exists. It's 95.5 FM in NYC. I haven't listened to it for years, but I know they are still on the dial.

Hi Dennis - If you have a copy of the 8/26/71 ABB show that includes all the WPLJ radio announcements, commercials etc, on it, the DJ doing the announcements worked for PLJ for many many years. I can't remember his name right now off hand, but I remember he was at least still working there, lets say 10 years ago - which is probably the last time that I actually listened to that station. But regardless, at the very least we are talking about a well-known DJ here in the NY area.

I mean, I don't remember his name, but you can't go by me, I don't even remember my own name half the time.

I do remember those radio spots on the 8/26/71 show were pretty hilarious - stuff like "7-UP...the uncola" and things like that

Hello Dennis,
My one is from latest bootleg copy of Derek & The Dominos Studio Works Compilation.
Of course, not monochrome, color footage. Bootlegger said in its advertisement, this DVD was made from master tape of the TV show, but I can't say it's true.
May I send you a copy for your refereence?

I think it was Dave Herman who was HUGE in the NY area most notably on WNEW FM when Scott Muni and Allison Steele ruled the air waves. Sadly WNEW went through what most staions have gone through...talk, now a "Woman's" station. Not that there is anything wrong with that.

Hi - Ed. Yea, I'm sure you are right. I would have to listen to it again to be sure. But it definitely could have been Dave Herman.

I always enjoyed Scott Muni. That gravelly voice.
