Any suggestions for pre-show activities? I'd like to check out Asheville quite a bit while in town, as I've never been there before

I couldn't get anything right near the venue, so I'm staying at a holiday in about 2 miles away.

We'll be there. We usually get into down in early afternoon, check into the hotel, bum around Asheville. And wait for the night to begin!

I've been to Barley's, the Bier Garden, and Jack of the Wood before the show the other times I have been. All have pretty good beer selections, if that is your thing. Barley's is on Biltmore Avenue, and the whole street is good for window shopping and people watching.

And don't forget the Biltmore Estate, if you have time.

Did anyone check out the link. The site says you can meet the band before the Jam. Here is my question. What band are we going to have the opportunity to meet? Other than the misleading advertisement, I would say that this place looks like a winner.

We'd be up for meeting at the Biergarden. What's a good time?

Beer, burgers, and meeting the band...can't beat that.

Me too, plus some friends. My fifth in a row. It seems each show has gotten better each year. I have come away amazed each time. Last year if I remember correctly. Mule took the stage around 4 am........... Watch for bad weather sunday after the show. Careful to all coming down the mtn.

The Xmas Jam was a blast. Warren opened the show with an acoustic "Soulshine." The last three to play were Hot Tuna, Trey, Mike & Bill (there was a new group name but I don't remember it offhand) and then Mule -- all played full sets. My high points of the evening were Hot Tuna and Mule. Mule was fantastic -- as with all the Jams, it's just so late when they come on (after 2am). The crowd was just spent after the Phish guys -- definitely a huge contingent of college Phish fans there. I had never seen Phish live so this was an experience for me. Very trippy. But Gov't Mule blew them away with "Living Loving Maid" and "Thorazine Shuffle" and "She Said, She Said."

Glad it was a blast, I am so disgusted with myself for not making the 2 hour drive because of a work conflict. I won't miss another one.

I've been wanting to do the XMAS jam for years. I'm in for next year. As a matter of fact. I'll be going to Mule's NYE show. Which I've also wanted to do before. I'll bring in the New Year right and go to all the shows I've been saying I wouldn't miss!! That's my resolution!!

Xmas Jam rawked all night and congratulations to Warren and Stefani on their happy news, what a noble cause to support.

It was the best day for a single event under one roof in music history. I would love for someone to prove me wrong. The encore had Bill, Trey, Marty, Warren, Ian, and Schools playing "I Know You Rider." I made it down front the entire show, 9+ hours. Towards the end of Mule's set, Warren was so into the show that he started dancing on stage with his hands out, and he stuck his hand and head into the camera that was hanging from the crowd. Here is another good moment. Schools played bass for Stuart stoned off his ass. Picture Marty dancing and singing with Schools in the background grooving with a smile and bugged out eyes. Follow the link below for some picutures of the Jam. Last year I made it on the front page of the newspaper. This year I did make it into a picture.
