Can anyone tell me how to get the audio from a DVD onto a CDR? Any help would be appreciated.

Rip the audio from the DVD using freeware VOB Edit.

The audio will then be 48000khz in either .wav, .ac3, or .mp2 format. You can then use freeware Besweet to convert to wav @ 44100 khz which is what you need for CD audio.

You could also use a good audio editor for the conversion, although most aren't capable of the Dolby .ac3 conversion. Once in wav however you have done it, you can split the tracks up and you are ready to burn to CDR.

Hope this helps.

Thanks so much, very helpful after I got over the initail "I don't understand all this khz technical stuff" shock.

ask a tech question and you get a tech answer.

Thanks again! I'm off to the freeware store.

Funny how it works like that. Jimmy, if you can't locate that software or have any questions, e-mail me and I can help you those software files (they are small) or possibly help to confuse you even more.

BTW, if you get BeSweet, besure to download the GUI interface for it too unless you are good with command line stuff.

I had tried this ( or a similar process ) with no luck, so I sprung for DVD Audio Ripper ($29.95 download). Works like a champ. Now all those concert DVDs can become CDRs or fodder for your MP3 player of choice.
