They recorded some stuff together, so it just might happen! Robert Randolph was with him last year, and that was amazing. Imagine EC/DT...

I don't know if it's official yet, though.

Clapton has announced dates at the albert hall..already sold out, although I've found a site selling tickets up to the mad price of 997 !!!. A lot of the clapton websites say he has a new band witout saying who is in it. I'd love to see DT blow clapton off stage

I'd like to know it too.
But I'm wondering if Derek will tour with Clapton it will only his UK tour??
Derek has a position of DTB and ABB and they will start their tour in US coming year, how he makes time to be with Clpaton if Clapton start world tour??
I feel now this UK tour is the only chance to see Derek with Eric on stage.

As I understand it, Derek has committed to touring with EC and the ABB may play fewer dates next year and/or some without Derek. BUT, whether this is just for the US section of the tour or the UK as well I have yet to see confirmed.

Regardless, I have got tickets for the Royal Albert Hall in May, I just hope that Derek does come over, it would be amazing if the dTb could open for EC - or am I just being greedy now

Hey Masahiko, you coming over to London? - I'll buy you many beers if you do my friend

Still suffering from Mumps I'm afraid Masahiko . . . few more days to go then I should be well again.

I hope that Derek does confirm soon. I went to the Cream concerts last year but have not seen EC since 91, so both myself and my wife are looking forward to going anyway, but Derek's attendance would put the icing on the cake!!!

Be well my friend

I would love to see Clapton tour exclusively playing Derek and the Dominos material. That would be worth Derek's time. Why would he want to do a greatest hits show with Eric Clapton?

My first question is: Why?
Secondly: Would you even admit it if it was the other way around (a good possiblity)?

Somehow, I get the feeling that EC won't get his props either way on this site.

Why is there this competitive attitude, Clapton has to prove himself to no one, Derek just needs to be heard by more people, his day as The Greatest is yet to come.

I think if you were to make the " blow you off the stage" comment to Eric he'd humbly say "you quite well may be right", knowing inside that it doesn't really matter, how are you going to prove it?

I think they should call the band "Derek and the Dominoes Revisited", with as much of the same lineup as possible, except for the crazy guy who killed his mom, and replace Duane with Derek. I think there's a good possibility that if he tours with Derek, they only play Dominoes tunes.

How much did the tickets cost Harvey? I couldn't find anything under 100 on line.

I got tickets for the Tuesday night on the floor of the arena in Row 22 for 60 each plus 6 handling/delivery.

These were the most expensive, Stalls (surrounding the arena were 50 and the Balcony was 35, but by the time I got on-line at mid-day (3 hours after they went on sale) all of the cheaper tickets were gone as were all tickets for weekend gigs.

Now that all shows are "sold out", the only way to get tickets is through the scalper agencies and they are charging up to 200 for the 35 tickets - if you can find one for 100 it is a bargain under those circumstances, but still 3 x face value

I'm pretty happy with what I've got

I don't remember which member of D&D it was, but one of them killed his mom and is in jail still (I believe)

Dtb did Key To The Highway lastr night @ the Keswick. A really great show, and this was a highlight for me. Would love to see Derek do this with EC, and I know Eric would love it too.

I just don't see why Derek would take time away from his family to tour with Clapton to play on Let it Rain, After Midnight and stuff like that. He's no session guitarist. If he tours with Clapton it will be something special you can bet that. Who is the crazy guy who killed his mom? The only other vital figure for a D & the D tour would be Bobby Whitlock.

With Jimmy Herring's recent departure from Phil & Friends this does open up a lot of possibilities. Personally I would hate to see Derek leave (or take a leave of absence from) the Allman Brothers. But I would understand if he did, touring with Eric Clapton would be great for his long term career.

Marley kindly posted this information in the "Derek Trucks" section:

quote:
Todd Smallie was talking about it after tonight's show like it was pretty definite. He said Derek would be playing a week of shows with Clapton in England at the Royal Albert Hall. I don't know if those are all of the plans, part of the plans, or what.
