Yeah, mine change frequently too, these are the 10 bands/artists I listen to the most frequently, roughtly in order:

1. ABB
2. Phil and Friends
3. Jazz is Dead
4. Robben Ford
5. Derek Trucks Band
6. Johnny Winter
7. Stevie Ray Vaughn
8. Yes
9. Frank Zappa
10. Dave Von Ronk

This is what I'm listening to the most. Favorites? Kinda sorta. There's no Pink Floyd or Emerson, Lake and Palmer on that list. Those are also among my favorites, I just don't happen to be listening to them just now.

Did I see a "Rainbow" mention up there? Very cool indeed. While of course "Man on the Silver Mtn" off of their first album was an anthem, I think the band really hit their stride with Rising and Long Live Rock and Roll. I still listen to cuts like Stargazer and Gates of Babylon on a regular basis. Gems from the days just before Metal splintered into the hairspray, thrash, and black/death varieties.

No doubt Droog -- Ritchie Blackmore's work with Ronnie James Dio on those albums is fantastic. I've always loved the sounds that he coaxes out of his Fender Telly -- super guitarist, as good at the blues as at hard rock.
I'd have to say
The Allmans
The Dead
The Band
Widespread Panic
String Cheese Incident
Blueground Undergrass
Schleigho
Entrain
Strangefolk
Dr. John

There are many others, of course. In jazz, I like
Coltrane
Miles Davis
Dave Brubeck
Cannonball Adderly
Wes Montgomery
Django Reinhardt
Joe Lovano
Stan Getz
Gerry Mulligan
Art Pepper
Sonny Rollins
Sonny Stitt

as well as modern "acid/funk" jazzers like MM&W, Soulive, Karl Denson & others.

Music -- I can't get enough of it.
