Do you mean the best of Fallon on SNL? Eventually I plan to have all of those, but don't have his yet.

Chris Kattan is probably my favorite from that period.

Can't stand the guy. He has a few funny moments now and then, but it'd be nice if the guy didn't break character laughing at his own jokes in every skit.

Jimmy Fallon is funny, but he does crack up during skits sometimes. Bill Murray made an indirect reference about this during that SNL anniversary special a while back. He didn't mention Jimmy by name but he did say something about how SNL cast members of later generations tended to laugh during the skits. Bad theater!

For me, Seth Meyers is my favorite current line-up member. His skits are reminiscent of old (1970's) National Lampoon magazine articles -esoteric and off-beat. Not really laugh-out-loud stuff ... just a little out-dere!

he is almost never funny, except (i think this is him) when he played that DJ and was interviewing nick lache, and did like 7 different voices, it was very funny. other than that, hes not funny.

Bob, I agree with you and Rusty on Jimmy: Sometimes funny, but too into himself. Late last night I saw an SNL rerun (Sting as host and musical performer--doing a poor "Purple Haze," I might add), and it was with Dennis Miller as Weekend Update anchor. Sure, he was kinda smarmy and conscious of his role as entertainer, but at least he didn't laugh at his own jokes and treat the viewer condescendingly.

It got me to thinking that this is what really repels me about Tina & Amy as the current anchors--always thinking they're so funny, winking *nudge nudge* during a slow audience response, or otherwise responding to the audience reaction. Norm MacDonald was the worst at this, always acting like the audience was slow if they weren't laughing at his more tasteless jokes!

Please, we're not your personal friends, Tina, so just do the news! It's funnier when it's just a parody of a real newscast, done with a straight face.

That was before last fall, Sang. Sandman has been pretty miffed ever since Tina chose Amy over him to be her co-anchor last year. And then she went and got a baby from another man--her husband, of all people!

Not a Fallon Fan. He always reminded me as a poor replacement for Adam Sandler...played a couple of chords on guitar and was kinda funny. I always saw Horatio Sands as a VERY POOR replacement for Farley as well. Only recent (last 10 years) cast member who has really made me bust a gut is Will Ferrell.

Fallons impression of Dennis Miller cracks me the hell up too.

Definitely a Will Farrell guy here, at least his work on SNL.

Don't know if I've ever laughed so hard as when Ferrell was doing Harry Caray talking to Colin Quinn on the news update segment. Ferrell (Caray) kept calling Quinn "Norm", since Quinn had been picked to replace McDonald as the news anchor on update.

"Hey Norm, I have a question for you. If you were a hotdog and you were starving, would you eat yourself?"

(Quinn cracking up) "I'm not sure how to answer that."

(Ferrell) "It's an easy question Norm, even a baby could answer it. If you were a hotdog and you were starving, would you eat yourself?"

I couldn't breathe I was laughing so hard.

I like Will Farrell too, and that Harry Carry sketch was great!! lolol I like his characters on SNL. I remember when Jimmy Fallon and someone else were store clerks in some chic fashion salon type store and Will Farrel came riding in on a scooter with this tiny sized cell phone. The were all cracking up when he took it out to answer it lolol
And what about his Cowbell thing with Christopher Walken.....imitating Blue Oyster Cult? lolol Great stuff lolol

That Carey impression is great. He even did it once more after Carey died, which he acknowledged at the end of the skit. Freakin hillarious. Will Farrell is the only guy I can excuse people for cracking up during a skit.

As for Norm, I like his style as anchor. I didn't think he was too smarmy, it was moreso that the joke was how bad the jokes were. His impersonation of Letterman is one of the funniest things I have ever seen - it's way too accurate.

I think we can all agree that Colin Quinn was the worst weekend update anchor ever. The guy can't say his name without f-ing it up, much less tell a joke from start to finish.
