It is not dying, it is not dying....

Sorry! I know this is an ABB fan site ;-) But I know at least if not all the ABB love the Beatles like I do! I'm rambling because I'm getting off work and my brain is all mushy.. someone here at work told me the other day "I don't really like the Beatles" I was like "My daddy says I'm not allowed to talk to you... Satan" and left. It was quite amusing Hope everyone is having a great and DRY Tuesday *prayers to hurricane peeps*

You have to be a rock and roll anti-christ to not like the Beatles. Or just a complete and total dweeb...

Lay down all thought, Surrender to the void, It is shining, It is shining.........

The Beatles was my first love of music Some of the greatest music turned out in such a short period of time.

They're the greatest rock & roll band ever -- from the teenybopper days to the hippie days, they did it all better than anybody ever did. They could make the simpleness of a song like "Every Little Thing" seem like magic -- George's 12 string playing, Ringo's little part on the kettle drums etc. Same thing with "What You're Doing," the simplicity of it. The harmonies of I Don't Want to Spoil The Party etc. etc. -- I love 'em.

"That you may see the meaning of Within, It is being, It is being." The Beatles were my introduction to popular music too cupofjoe. How fortunate we were to come of age in such a zenith in rock history. They wrote the soundtrack to my youth. Rest in Peace John and George.

I love it! Great quote, can I use it some time?

Anyone here who knows me, knows I'm a Beatle freak, but unfortunately, I know plenty of people who don't like the Beatles... It makes me sad.

All of the beatles albums are great but i htink that the most overlooked album is Help! I feel like everyone looks over that and into sgt pepper and abbey road. Help! is probably the earliest look at what would soon be. And every time i try to think of what is my favorite beatles song i end up getting mad at myself- I just cant do it!

Tomorrow Never Knows is one of my favorite Beatles songs ever. Wish they'd recorded an extended version.

For anyone who doesn't know, the title of this thread and several quotes within it were appropriated from the Tibetan Book of the Dead, most likely the Timothy Leary version that was a very popular psychedelic guide at the time. The Book of the Dead is intended to help people deal with death and the transition to the afterlife, but it apparently works very well as a guide for psychedelic experiences as well. Hmmm, wonder why that would be...

"Rubber Soul was the moment they turned the corner".
I can see your point, but the first two records (original English release and original American release, both now on CD) still get me off.........that's the righteous thing about them, you can listen to any of their 8 year time periods and get off in different ways. The way they did Motown and Chuck Berry on the first English release was just incredible.

This thread title makes me think of floodwaters.

I wonder what Sonny Landreth will do with such New Orleans and southern Louisiana songs of his as "Congo Square" and "South of I-10."

Ross, The moment they turned the corner was when they stepped into Bob Dylans hotel room in New York City after playing Shea. Bob showed them what it was around the corner they should be looking for

I got chills from just reading the opening lyrics to this tune...my favorite tune of all time from my favorite band of all time. I was lucky enough to be into the Beatles when I was 7 or 8 years old.
