Peach-head I couldn't agree more, I still miss "where the great wood, once stood"! Just a great day to remember a great man.

A truly great, unique bass man and by all accounts a fine person as well. Dropped bottom like no one since B.O. and the Mule, despite occasional flashes of greatness, will never recapture the magic the original trio possessed. I understand that adding Danny L. and A. Hess means Warren isn't seeking to recreate the old sound, just that I prefer the HEAVY sound Woody anchored.

My wonderful friend from HTW, FarmerMaggie, just hooked me up with several fine Woody era Mule discs. I have been jaw dropped a few times listening to his bottom line. I only wish I would have been into his playing more while he was still alive. Makes me think there is more than one meaning to "Only the good die young."

Never will forget the first time seeing Woody with ABB live in Toronto 1990 & thinking to myself, well he sure LOOKS like an Allman Brother. Then he started to play and it was confirmed.Favourite Captain Al experience was Mule at a very very small club, having my innard rearranged by Woody, Gibson & Ampeg. RIP Brother.
