I'm a little late with my post of the Toronto show but I was out of town for a while on vacation...anyways....

Based on the members here, I'm a newbie when it comes to ABB fan club...and I know you pretty much get shot if you say anything negative about the band but I'm gonna say this anyways....

I think it's silly to ask for money back (like I saw on another post) when a band member doesn't show up... **** happens and there's nothing you can do about this but it's perfectly ok to say the ABB is not the same without Warren. I know all the old song and heard them many times and I love them but what got me right in too ABB is hittin' the note album and the DVD at the beacon theatre...Having said that, the Toronto show was good but since I have been drooling since Xmas to see the band as we know it right now (including Warren Haynes)....I was extremely dissapointed. Like....totally crushed...Again, good show but I surely missed hearing Soulshine and desdomona...Maybe better luck next year I hope...

By the way...it's funny how the people posting regarding the "money back posting" claiming it was not the end of the world that Warren wasn't there are the first one to post their relief to see that he is back....because deep down...ABB is not the same with Warren...

I was crushed too, but we got Chuck Leavell sitting in....lots of other people didn't.

The ABB isn't the same without Duane, Dickey or Warren. Each time a guitar player leaves, even if just temporarily, it changes the band.

That said, the Toronto show was great, lots of fun and good tunes.

True, the new stuff wasn't played, but there's always next time...

Hey! If you ask me, they're not the same without Jack either! But if you look back at most shows you go to (assuming you're fortunate to go to several) sometimes the memory and tapes are way better than you remember when you're there. One thing for sure is that the ABB sure give us something different all the time. Personally, that's why I LOVE them!

did you mean to say the ABB is not the same without Warren? with Warren made no sense? I'm not going to call you a troll but there have been about 5 threads about this throughout the forum.

I have to admit, I was mildly amused by the way the party line of the board was to downplay any disappointment over Mr. Haynes' absence and to instead focus on the novelties -- Ron H. and sax, Jack Pearson, Chuck Leavell. The glass is half full and the road goes on forever!
I myself was never quite able to pull myself up by the bootstraps and convince myself that the 7-23-05 Philly ABB show was all that and a bags of chips because I am one of those unsophisticated clods whose idea of a good ABB show is one that has a lotta Warren and a lotta Derek playing off of each other. Call me simple. Call me provincial. Call me the poster girl for the lowest form of fandom -- the Mule fan taking a walk on the ABB turf.
Hanging head shamefully...

Life requires you pull yourself up by the bootstraps regularly...at least mine does.

I admit my enthusiasm would be lacking if I didn't catch Chuck...not because there's anything wrong with Jack but because I too enjoy the interplay between Derek and Warren...it's been years in the making now, and they have a great thing going.

Still, if the music isn't gettin' ya going at a concert you have other options; get a beverage/snack, find a new location, check out members of the opposite sex{or same sex if that floats your boat}, try dancing if seated, try sitting if dancing, smoke something, stop smoking something....it's all up to you, the concert can GET better simply by putting yourself in a better frame of mind.

Fly above the storm clouds; you're the pilot of your soul.
