My Friends,

Quite simply...The Chicago ABB show was an amazing musical experience. As always, I appreciate more than anything, the opportunities to hang with my friends that share with me the magic of this very cool ride that we are all on.

Ya’ll a great bunch!

Peace

I was at the "Warren-less" Philly show.
Its interesting that they have not played a song from
Hittin the Note when he is not with them.

I thought it was because Ron H may not have known
any of the tunes (Philly), or maybe it was the lack of a 2nd guitar lead (Philly as well).
I wonder if that will remain true for this week?

Looks like a great setlist.
Can't wait to hear the show!

Holloway sat in with the Brothers during "Desdemona" at Bristow, VA this year.

Unbelievable show! I was glad to be able to share it with my son. I was little disappointed to hear that Warren Haynes would not be there, but Jack Pearson was outstanding! The set list was great and Jessica never sounded better.

I've been reading so many comments on the "Jack Pearson" situation and the reviews of this show, last night. I didn't feel like typing in my opinions because they have been stated several times over by several of you. And for those of you who know me, you know that not only am I huge Warren Haynes fan, but also a huge Jack Pearson fan. - Warren will always be missed and I pray he and his family is okay, however Jack brought tears to my eyes last night... So I'll just say, if you're going to a show only because you're a Warren Haynes fan, then I don't know what to tell you, but if you're an Allman Brothers Band fan, DON'T MISS JACK & DEREK! You will NOT be dissapointed. Here are two guitar players who have a ridiculous amount of fun challenging each other... Due to the circumstances, the band as a whole, really pushed each other and there were elements of pure improvisation that were unlike any I have ever seen in ABB shows (I've been to over 25). But this also brought a certain amount of uncertainty that made the show more excited. These guys brushed over "mistakes" or "unclear" marks with such proffessionalism most people would've never even known it happened...

Oh yeah, and the INSTANT LIVE sounds INCREDIBLE a MASSIVE improvement over the Rosemont 04 show... And actually over most of the 04 Instant Lives in general. It sounds the same as (or better than) the majority of the 03 IL's

PauliG,

Thanks for the update. I've been reading that many people feel that so far "05" IL are not great as compared to "04"

So far I have three from "05" two are great and one is so,so. I'll be in Mansfield and Vermont. I plan on getting both.

I would buy this IL just to hear the Jack 'Dreams'. Caught one in his last Beacon run, and the songs never been the same for me....

Great quote! There are a lot of people like this, and not just Warren fans. There are people who go just to see Gregg sing, there are people who go just to see Derek, etc. I'm an "Allman Brothers Band fan" myself. To me, the collective sound of the ABB is what makes them so special, and they have proven over the years that their sound isn't dependent on any one person.
