Below is a copy of an e-mail I received today from YesWorld and couldn't help but wonder if these same immigration issues are what's holding up an official announcement of Cream at MSG?

The More Drama Tour has been cancelled (not postponed). Below is the press release with details. Fanfire will contact purchasers of the ticket packages directly regarding refunds.

Yes guitarist Steve Howe, bassist Chris Squire, and drummer Alan White have cancelled their scheduled More Drama Tour, which was scheduled to begin August 2 in Seattle, presented by VH1 Classic.

The cancellation was prompted by immigration issues in the wake of heightened security brought on by the recent terrorist attacks in London. The tour will be rescheduled at a later date. All those who purchased advance tickets should contact their local box office or Ticketmaster for refund information.

"We're frustrated as much as the fans are but we understand the importance of the heightened security and hope we can reschedule the tour at some point," said the bassist for Yes and The Syn, Chris Squire.

The tour was to have spotlighted performances by three different bands, including the legendary pre-Yes prog-rock pioneers the Syn, featuring Yes bassist Chris Squire and original vocalist Stephen Nardelli; Yes drummer Alan White's recently formed side project WHITE with keyboardist Geoff Downes, and Steve Howe's solo set. The three principals then planned to perform their own set of Drama-era Yes songs.

Even though the More Drama Tour has been called off, Yes fans will still have a pair of summer releases to look forward to, including the 35th Anniversary: "Songs From Tsongas" DVD on Image Entertainment, which hits retail on August 9. Shot at Tsongas Arena in Boston during Yes' highly acclaimed 35th Anniversary Tour, it showcases the band in high definition and a state-of-the-art 5.1 Surround Sound audio track, featuring the reunited classic line-up of Jon Anderson, Steve Howe, Chris Squire, Rick Wakeman and Alan White. "The Word Is Live", a box set of Yes live concert performances, will be released by Rhino Records on August 23. For more information, see yesworld.com.

Well, that is a bummer! Although I have to admit I'm secretly happy because I REALLY wanted to see that show and I couldn't... So it worked out for me, although it is still a bummer.

I am wondering why I didn't get that update from Yesworld though...

I hate to hear this. I wish Robin Trower would tour the USA. I would go see Trower in a heart beat.

I would guess that this trek was canned due to
lagging ticket sales. They were booked into the
huge shed in Toronto a couple of nights after
the Allmans. I can't imagine Howe, Squire and
White would have drawn any more than 2,000
or so in this major market.

Ticket sales aside, I believe the current crisis in the UK is the real reason. My cousins were planning on coming over for moe.'s annual summer festival--but it now looks unlikely that they will be able to do so. I can't even get into the UK right now--and I'm a dual UK-US citizen. I would have to go through mounds of paperwork to do so. I totally buy their stated reason.

They sold out in Chicago, way quicker than I expected too. I think if it were due to poor ticket sales, they would've just said so. Most bands do...

I agree, go to the yesworld website and read all the detailed press releases....do you think they're all lies? I couldn't even get a decent SINGLE seat to the AC or Beacon shows, I would HIGHLY doubt it was due to poor ticket sales.

from what i hear cream actually had MSG booked for 3 dates at the end of may and were still considering it up until a few days after their royal albert hall show but were not able to put the shows on because i think ginger or jack was having visa problems and was not going to be able to get into the US. that would be my guess as to why it is taking so long for them to officially announce the October Cream shows.

Same thing happened here with John Cleary.

Wonder if it will affect the Stones tour?

Wonder if ol' Chuck just might be free in late Oct. after all?

Well....if I'm wrong about 'lagging ticket sales'
then I'll be the first to admit it. Yes tours over
here all the time.....curious that they would
suddenly develop these problems. Whatever.
Guess I'm just used to the baseball spin about
a player going on the DL because he `got a
blister washing his car' when we all know he
hurt himself chasing a hooker around the
hotel he was staying at.

Too bad about the tour -- I would like to have checked them out. The Anderson/Bruford/Wakeman/Howe show in Manchester NH in 1989 was excellent

Chasing a hooker around the hotel? The whole building or just the room?

He is out of his mind.

Baseball players don't need hookers.

they got plenty of groupies.
