Ahhhhhh, Bob Dylan! I can't pick just one, I love so many Dylan tunes.

I could chose Forever Young, but I think about It Takes Alot To Laugh, It Takes A Train To Cry too. Nah, it's Gotta Serve Somebody. Wait, wait.... Just Like A Woman?? Well, I love the lyrics, but I like it best when Van sings it. So, I'll go with Hard Rains A-Gonna Fall.

My favorite Bob Dylan tune is .....Trust Yourself

Trust yourself,
Trust yourself to know the way that will prove true in the end.
Trust yourself,
Trust yourself to find the path where there is no if and when.
Don't trust me to show you the truth
When the truth may only be ashes and dust.
If you want somebody you can trust, trust yourself.

My favorite Dylan album is Blood On The Tracks so I'd have to say any song off that gem.

I will say that "If You See Her Say Hello" is such a beautiful, emotional song that it usually brings me close to tears when I hear it.

And sometimes it does....

Slow Train -

I had a woman down in Alabama,
She was a backwoods girl, but she sure was realistic,
She said, "Boy, without a doubt, have to quit your mess and straighten out,
You could die down here, be just another accident statistic."

I read an interview with Augie Meyer who played keys on "Love and Theft' (another great Dylan record) and he described how they were recording a song (might have been Tweedly Dee and Tweedly Dum) and Dylan decided the song needed more verses, So he just got a pen and paper and started spinning out great verse after great verse with no more effort than if he was buttering bread. The band just stood around him, looking at each other and shaking their heads in disbelief. "If you see her, say hello" is work of genius, I agree.

The one Dylan song I never get tired of hearing or playing and singing is "Tangled Up in Blue". I also love a fairly obscure song from "Bringing it all Back Home" called "On the Road Again."

I'll vote for that one as well. "Not Dark Yet" is one of my top 5 as well. I don't care if it's not "classic." To me, he's never done another song like that. "Buckets of Rain" has always been one of my favorites too.

Easily my fav Dylan tune...

They're selling postcards of the hanging
They're painting the passports brown
The beauty parlor is filled with sailors
The circus is in town
Here comes the blind commissioner
They've got him in a trance
One hand is tied to the tight-rope walker
The other is in his pants
And the riot squad they're restless
They need somewhere to go
As Lady and I look out tonight
From Desolation Row

Best song or most favorite? If it's best, then I have no clue, but my fav is Isis.

Isis, oh, Isis, you mystical child.
What drives me to you is what drives me insane.
I still can remember the way that you smiled
On the fifth day of May in the drizzlin' rain.

I'll agree with you and pick something else, lol. Can I play stupid and say 'Blood on the Tracks' and pretend it's all one song? No? OK, Simple Twist of Fate it is.

For me it's Lily,Rosemary, and the Jack of Hearts.

And, don't laugh... You Gotta Serve Somebody, no matter how many times I hear it, the clever rhyming makes me laugh. I wonder how a rapper would do covering that one ?
