Thank you so much for making Wanee happen. It was the best Peach party a fan could ever experience. I am thankful that it took place 80 miles from my house in Tally.
I hope this will become an annual event.

Teresa

Butch, I just wanted to put my two cents in the pot too. I had a great time at the Wanee Fest. It was like a dream come true. I am still pinching myself and listening to my IL just to make sure it did happen. You guys are the greatest. Let's do this again next year.

What they all said above! I came down from the Philadelphia area and would do it again in a heartbeat. I go to the Beacon every year as well, and boy they sure are two different animals. I'd be hard pressed if I had to pick one to go to.

Thanks again. I'll be there next year, 'cause the website says "see you next year"

Yes, thanks to you Mr. Butch. Since this was the first one I am hoping that there will be one next I am going to start a Wannee lessons learned post so people can enjoy the experience that much more. First thing is; bring warm dry clothes because it gets cold at night. More to come.

Already making plans for next year. Was fun wasn't it? Even with the cold.

Butch, several of us had a camp site jam going after Fridays set. It was 2AM before we realized no one was left standing around watching. Then we noticed our breath in the cold night air, and that our fingers were cold and stiff.

Wanee brought a lot of us from this site together for the first time. For that, I thank you. We have some great people on this forum. For two nights of amazing music from the best band in the land, The Allman Brothers Band, I also thank you. I hope you guys are around for a few more years. It's been an amazing 36 years, hasn't it?

Butch,
It's great to hear you say that there are plans for next year. My wife and I drove down from Mass and would do it again in a heartbeat. It was a little tough being a month after the Beacon (which we have attended for the last 5 years and will continue to attend as long as you guys feel like showing up), but it was well worth it. It was such a perfect weekend and a perfect venue, I couldn't imagine not going again.

If you guys ever get too sick of touring around the country, instead of calling it a day, maybe you should just do Wanee type weekends or Beacon type runs in different parts of the country. That way, you wouldn't have to travel so much. At this point in your careers, I think you've earned the right to have the people come to you a little more.
Just look at all the festivals that have popped up in the last couple of years. It's so much better for everyone involved to just park it in one place for a few days and enjoy the music to the fullest, without having to worry about driving home, or being at work the next day. Wanee was fantastic, and I applaude you for putting it together.
The Road Goes on Forever
