I've had a few updates already from Wanee, and I'm jealous. Sounds like the weather is fantastic and the place is beautiful. Maybe next year.

I'm calling for them to open with DWYNM/INMCTB.

The skeeter's should reflect/amplify the RF from the cell phones and towers.........

Sounds like a good first night - any word on what DTB or Robert Randolph has played? Or if they played with each other for that matter... I'm predicting a Southbound encore with Randolph tonight

...For those who weren't able to come down. I hope they make this a tradition and do it again. So eveyone can be down. fun was had by all the camping, the park ,man, the whole thing. there was a guy pressing Wanee shirts right in front of ya, you pick out the shirt and the type of screen and he presses it while you wait.
Special props out to John Popper
He was multipotent yesterday showing up everywhere, including a late night jam that was whoooadaddy! On the side stage beloved Derek shining his light w/ wife Susan, Kofi and the rest of the TB. It was truly a religious experience. and finally GALACTIC! we'll be lucky to get half of the sh!t they laid down onto disc. putting out the heavyheady. Well my head hurts, gotta go lie it down. peace

Just got back to Jacksonville Florida. This was the greatest festival I can ever remember. I am 49 the ABB changed my life when I was 13. They just did again. The night they drove ole dixie down. I was in tears. The whole show by every band was outstanding. Renmember this place is in the middle of the Florida cow fields. The place was insane to say the least. I met people from all over the USA. I go there 3 times a year what a wonderful place.

Both Derek and Warren played on their respective stage before the Brothers set each night.
go to http://www.waneefestival.com/schedule.html for the line-up

It was really interesting to hear from through the trees at the campsite, both Derek and Warren were jamming it out on two different stages. At one point I swear it all converged and they were both playing the same song, I doubt I'll get anyone to back me up on that though.
The Allmans didn't come on 'til after 10 pm each night and played well into the midnight hour
The pace was just perfect they set the stages up so as when one act was finishin you could walk over to the other stage and catch the other. DSO played second stage both Fri and Sat. and John Popper tossed out a bone to all the latenighters with that sweet jam on the back stage to close out the fest. I guess tapers probably had an interesting time trying to get both stages covered. A humble request to the gods that be. Put out two disc package sets. Fri 4/15 and Sat. 4/16.
