There is another show from Japan (not sure of the date right now) where Gregg is sick and Warren does all the singing. There is a version traded but sadly the sound is rather poor.

There are also other dates where people filled in for Dickey. I find the best are when Jack sits in for Dickey. Warren and Jack really seem to play well together. The setlists are the same but the playing is smoking. Some of the better Liz reeds out there.

There was a show at the Beacon in 2000 - I'm almost positive it was the first one - that I've seen called "the Strat from Hell Show" because of some guitar problems Dickey experienced.

What's the peyote story ? How can anyone be sure he was on that ?

Please enlighten me . Not sure how anyone could even make it to the stage on that.

Cool. Needless to say, Dickey's last show has a kind of infamy to it. So does one of the two New Orleans shows they did about a week earlier (I forget which one, 4/28 or 4/29). Haven't heard it, but the word was that it was not so good.

Yeah, didn't the one and only Steven Seagal jam with them in New Orleans 2000 b/c he was a friend of Dickeys? I think there were pics on here at one time of that. I would think that would qualify as infamous.

Another famous one was the one where they played "In Memory of Elizabeth Reed" TWICE!

I was just wondering that. Here's hoping he's a better guitarist than an actor! I guess they wouldn't have had him onstage if he wasn't at least an okay player.

Now where's that peyote story I requested ?

Derek said in an interview last year that at the '99 Red Rocks show, Derek's first as an official member, that Dickey had smoked peyote before the show. DT said it made for an interesting evening.

Wow. Imagine joining the ABB at 20 years old or so and that happens at your first show ? The kid had sack since day 1.

At my first show, in 90 or 91 at Alpine Valley there was a huge electrical storm, and the power went out for about 15 seconds. The crowd hooted for a second, then calmed down - very faintly, you could hear Gregg still singing - that set the crowd off again. It was pretty cool.

During the '98 Beacon run they played an acoustic Liz Reed and then later an electric version.

He's been gigging since he was about 11 years old, so you figure he's seen weirder things than that. People around Derek will tell you he had to grow up fast.

4/22/95, might be the only time Gregg sang all of Worried Down With The Blues.
He didn't do it very well

At least it's the only one I know of that is in circulation.
