Have the Allmans debuted any "new" songs this year? By "new," I mean new originals written specifically for the Allmans?

The instrumental "Egypt" is quite new...worked up about a week before the run...

I guess it depends upon your definition of "new." Although recorded for but not included on Shades of Two Worlds, Delta Blue is now being performed in concert. Sounds like "new" to me.

"Hiding Place" is sort of new... although Warren has done it a few times, it would be considered new for The ABB...Is that good enough.

Hook up here, bro, and find out:

They're about midway through the second set, now, so you've got maybe an hour and a half wait before it comes around again.

To be fair, Delta Blue and Hiding place are new to this version of the ABB...though neither of those songs were written by or for the band (I understand Warren wrote Hiding Place well before he was a member).

I would sure love to hear the version of Delta Blue that was worked up for Shades though...

Is it (Delta Blue) a Warren tune, or a Gregg tune?

Gregg did "Delta Blue" as coot mentioned. This was an outtake that did not make the hades of Two Worlds album. This song is more fiting for a Gregg solo release.

It may be more of a fit for a Gregg solo release however I don't think its a given that it will make it on the next ABB release either - I mean it might but it might not. If it does maybe they can turn it into an arrangement for the whole band sort of like "Desdemona" - although there is no place for a jam in the middle of it.
Since it was decided by Gregg / Warren etc that we were going to get Gregg sitting at a piano for some intimate songs they probably figured "Delta Blue" would be a perfect fit for that setting along with "These Days" etc. There is always a small risk of the moments being too subdued for a fired up crowd thats ready to dance but I think it's kind of cool. It definitely something no one has ever seen before. Also, there is no guarantee that these quiet piano songs will be extended into the summer tour so this might really be a rarity here. They might not work as well in a big shed as well as in a small theatre - it might not hold a big crowds attention which is a shame. I think everyone should be patient with this - Gregg is an artist who can express himself in different ways and we should give him that much and just.....listen. WE already know we have an "instrumental centerpiece" for a new CD - "Egypt" is destined for greatness. I'm already completely absorbed into that one. ITs soooo good its scary...

Egypt is new to the ABB; it's a rewrite of Oteil's song Walk Like a Man. However it was rewritten for the final time a few years ago and I'm told the Peacemakers have played it at least a few times.

Marley, yes... I want to (kind of) answer a question you asked me quite a few threads ago. I was talking about bringing back "Walk Like A Man" (for the umpteenth time) and I mentioned that it was rewritten on Oteil's last album. What i was referring to was the opening track, which shares the same chord progression for a portion of the song. I still can't think of the name of the track and I don't have the album here at work. But "Egypt" also carries that progression as well as many melody (and harmony) lines from "Walk Like a Man", which is very exciting to me. That song has some great potential. I will now shut up about bringing back "Walk Like a Man".

Anyway, if you don't get to hear the streamlined audio (which I reccommend) and if you don't know "Walk Like a Man". "Egpyt" is a great 6/8 moderate groove. (Think Frogwings). It has two distinct melody lines played by the guitar (in harmony) and two massive building guitar solos, with lots of different progressions. I think you'll like it!

Does anyone know how many shows you can listen to on internet radio. So far I've only heard 3/11/05. Are there others?
