Are there any photos of Duane playing with Derek and the Dominos? I don't recall seeing any, but at my age.....

In the Duane on stage photo gallery there is a picture of Duane and Eric playing facing each other with I think Bobby Whitlock in the background, I'm not sure if it's him or another Domino becuase I haven't seen the picture in awhile.

I think that is Carl Radle in the background.

Anyone figure out what the sanskrit? is on Duane's shirt, and, I wonder if he got it from Eric, who might have gotten it from George Harrison? Can't imagine Duane was able to read it himself.

Cheers

How tall was Duane? He seems to be looming over Eric
in that posed photo.

Why does that not look like Eric Clapton to me and why is that guy not playing a Strat?
Yeah, that is Carl Radle in the middle.

The guy in the middle is indeed Carl Radle playing bass. The picture of Clapton looks like Clapton. In fact, if you check the photos on the inside of the Layla album, you'll recognize the shirt Clapton is wearing. During that period, Clapton predominantly played a 1956 sunburst stratocaster nicknamed "Brownie". IHO that guitar had a wonderful tone. Clapton also played Les Pauls and telecasters during the Dominos period.

Carlos, don't underestimate Duane--in any respect! (Well, I guess you might be safe on this one. )

Here's the translation of the two lines of Sanskrit repeated and repeated on Duane's shirt:

Hairy visage, hairy visage; hairy, hairy, visage, visage.
Hairy jamma, hairy jamma; hairy, hairy, jamma, jamma.

That will probably lead to a law suit by the folks who sued GH

Duane onstage with Derek and the Dominos, Carl Radle in background; must be the same night as that other one with Eric, Carl, and Duane, probably same photographer.

I'd never seen this one before--it's at the Mama Louise site (posted on her website, hanging on the restaurant wall)! See this thread for this and other cool pics; I'm looking at the slideshow right now:

Maybe Eric was still playing Gibsons on occasion when he played with Duane, but I think he had mostly switched to Fenders.

I think he was playing Fenders about 95% much of the time by the time Derek & The Dominos came into play.
