Hey everyone! So I've recently really gotten into Solomon Burke. I've always been aware of him, but never really "discovered" him. First his voice on Derek's JOYFUL NOISE album gave me the chills. Then ditto on JOOLS HOLLAND's latest FRIEND album (which if you haven't heard those collections... check it out!) So I bought Solomon's DON'T GIVE UP ON ME album. I have a greatest hits collection of his older stuff, which is excellent, but can anyone suggest anymore recent stuff by him. He's truly an one of the greats. Under-rated too...

I just got an e-mail from BB Kings in NY. Solomon is doing a show there. I'll get back with the date, but I think it was March 8th.

Pauli, I agree with ya, his voice on Dereks album also gives me the chills. I was all too delighted at the Jammy's last year when the DTB took the stage and sitting in his thrown was none other than King Solomon Burke....and he and they killed it, I mean they cooked. I was so psyched to see that. I thought it couldn't get any better when he was out there, but they took to another level when Susan Tedeschi and Dickey Betts took the stage for Lovelight. Whoooo, they blew the doors off.
