Chris,

I'm assuming you're being sarcastic. Anyone that's every got involved with Meth or "crank" or "cat" will tell you it's an evil drug. Did enough of it myself back in the '80's, and I thank God got away from that $hit. It's just putting "raw chemicals" into yourself.

PS: couldn't pull up the before and after pictures, but I can pretty much guess what they look like.

how did you kick the habit??? I heard somewhere it's like a 7% success rate for quitting. Man, you must be a strong one to overcome that!

Well Chris,

Ending up in an ICU because of a grand mal seziure because of using crank and cocaine, WILL make you re-think what you're doing. Personally, I took it as a "wake-up call from God". Maybe, I wasn't as heavy into it as some, but I were I was at was heavy enougth. Basically, I was a "weekend warrior". As it was, it still took me more than a year to completely get away from all that $hit. But, I knew if I kept on, one way or another it was going to kill me.

Meth nearly drove me insane in the late seventies, but almost killed me in the mid-eighties. Coke make make you paranoid, but meth makes you paranoid AND violent.

Just this past Friday, a friend calls me to see if I can help her. I work in the judicial system & have access to information such as local police arrest records. It seems her sister, who has already had her children placed with her parents due to various arrest from meth use, had been arrested again & was using my friends name. When I started checking into this for her, I found out that my friend had outstanding warrents for her arrest due to her sister using her name in a previous arrrest & other than a speeding ticket or two, has never been arrested. Now my friend has a long road ahead of her to clear her name & as of Friday, had not done a credit check to see if her sister had run up some bills under her name. My guess is, even if she gets this matter resolved, somewhere down the line this will surface again. I'm sure some of you out there who have been victims of ID theft can testify. Just another way this nasty drug can affect others.

Don't even think about it! You'll either die because you can't quit or wish you were dead when you do. Deep depression, no desire to do anything except sleep. When you have to do something it feels as though it takes every ounce of energy you have just to get up and walk 50 feet. It really is a living hell, and these withdrawing symptoms, though they diminish. can last well into the second year after the last use.
Take it from one who knows.

as a girl who's stepfather was a crankhead - i DONT recommend even trying this. what a **** ing **** ed up drug. you become violent and psychotic.

i've had run-ins with crank. i used to use it to clean my house, but once you do enough of it that sorta doesnt work anymore and you just sorta sit around all spun out. it burns the **** out of your nose so i used to put it in my coffee. Most people take to smoking it soon. (crystal meth). never tried that, never will.

it sucks, its a complete garbage drug and like most drugs, it will turn against you in no time flat.

those pictures are wild.

I heard it's because they itch so bad, they scratch their body till it bleeds. I watched a special on HBO. All they do is take apart things, but they don't put them back together. They live in a junk yard.

Meth sucks - but all already know that.

Only think that ever got past my no needle policy.

And...after something like 15 years I still don't think it's a good idea to be thinking about it..

later...!

Bill, I saw that, too. Very sad.

Here's a link. The story I originally saw, it had graphs where that IN county's rate of meth lab busts and other meth arrests has skyrocketed the past couple years.

Chris, I saw that HBO special on meth too. I remember two things in particular. There was the roofer who seemed like a decent man, but was so hooked that he said that all he could think about throughout the day was hurrying to finish that days work so he could go score.

And the lady who was talking to a social worker about her b/f or husband (?) and his drug addiction. The social worker asked what he was hooked on and the lady said, meth. The social worker just stopped and looked at her and said: ..oh honey I am so sorry for you, you know it's going to be almost impossible for him to stop.

Watched this movie in health... they showed meth labs... basically they mix these drugs in a shed with a bathtub covered in bacteria... and any cleaning product imaginable goes in it. I forget how many makeshift labs are approx. in each state.. something like 13,000 in each state... could be wrong. Don't remember

during the summer I went to check out the local humidor filled with tasty smokes and as I was examining a Custa Ray ,,, I noticed an older lOOking gent stroll on in ,,with a walking cane.... I ask what seegar he was putting on death row and as he turned to talk to me ,,I realized I actually knew this guy ( a very good attorney in his day) however the guy I thought I knew ,,,now appeared to look a heck of a lot older and very thin....... Heck ,, the poor bastid let the meth monster get a hold of him and had aged drastically........ I asked him if he remembered me and he went on talking and gave me his business card ........... he didn't know who I was ......... this guy is one year older than me but lOOked 65 ......... that meth chit really destroyed his family ,,his life and his carreer.........what a shame!
