Since there are multiple threads going on Wanee, I thought I'd try to pull it together in one new thread (and to get the thread back onto the main page of "anything goes"

For anyone traveling down 75 by way of Valdosta, my Uncle & Aunt (Harold & Shirley) have a restuarant about 40 mins or so from Live Oak... it's called The Farm House, in Lake Park, GA (there's a big factory store outlet there)... I let 'em know to treat you right Just tell them Mark & John (BigTrout) sent you! And watch out for Harold, he likes to tease.

As far as I could tell, this is the latest running list (sorry if I missed anyone)

1. Peachjam
2 Helen (Banesh - Barn area)
3. WannabeDerek
4. BigDaveonBass
5. TerriB

Does anyone know for sure if Rees Lake is gonna be safe for partying??
There's nothing worse than a visit from an undercover whilst in party mode!!

Havn't gotten my tickets yet, but I plan on attending

Check this out - in April I'm going to Wanee and then 2 weeks later I head to the Big Easy for Jazzfest. I just got word from a buddy that our place to stay came through in New Orleans. Gonna be an expensive, but fun month.

What's up with Ticketmaster only having UPS as a choice for delivery???? It's like an additional 20 bucks, and there's no option otherwise!! Pisses me off. $135 for a ticket, on a $100 face value.

Wanee is going to be wonderful.
I'm blowing off the Roo and I just can't wait.

I'm looking forward to meeting many new friends and hopefully doing some jamming of our own.
As BlueSky said - don't forget to hit the farmhouse rest. on I-75 near Valdosta. The bicuits and the hospitality can't be beat. Make sure you say hey to my Uncle Harold and my Aunt Shirley.

Hey all,

Imagine if you knew how cool Atlanta Pop was gonna be BEFORE it happened.
Imagine if you knew how legendary the Filmore East concert was gonna be BEFORE you bought your ticket.
I don't know if I am setting my expectations too high, but I gotta tell ya, as soon as I saw this line up in this place the voices of the past started calling to me. Even the name "Wanee" has the vibe.

I am so looking forward to the music, the hang and the love.
To me, this really is a family.

Me too. Just wanna Wanee. Went to Roo last year, but looking forward to something a little tamer, more ... fuzzy like a peach!

Thanks for the tip on your Aunt & Uncle's restaurant. We may drop by on Monday on the way back home.

Take Care

Glad to hear it Kathy Ann,

You be careful now because Uncle Harold likes to tease.
You just tell him to mind his business and bring you some
of them down home vittles.

mmmm

TopDroog, it didn't even cross my mind how that would look on the rollcall, and I'm having a good laugh over it.

In reality, on the other Wanee thread no one was listing themselves- just saying that they would be there so I took it upon myself to start the list. I was #4. I accidently left out WannaBeDerek from the list and it did look at first like I slighted him. He put himself down as 7.5 and when I saw the mistake, I exchanged places with him.

Funny entry above by BigDaveonBass...When he and I here standing together at the GA&F show in Atl this week drinking beer, I remarked how someone might mistake us for bouncers. Dave told me that it is his continuing misfortune that folks think that about him because he was just the opposite; non-confrontational and peace loving. I told him that my big mouth has gotten me into more than one bad situation and it would be nice to know he was watching my back...Dave took a drink of his beer and gave me that Sorry- partner-you're - on - your - own - should - your - big - mouth - overload - your - a** - look. I immediately did one of those deep voiced "How 'bout them Braves' remarks.

We stood there and both remarked how big BIGDAVE is !!...good thing he's a gentle giant. Maybe he'll show up at Live Oak. Of course Hophead towers over us all anyway...

Almost forgot---BigDaveonBass informed me that he is Master-At-Arms in his motorcycle club...

I remember saying this..

I don't remember that...

It's "Seargent-At-Arms." I'm not a master yet, but I am the third place finisher two years running in the club pistol match. That's 3rd out of 12 competitors.

And Dan, I got your back bro...

Anyone notice they dropped the "Late Night" Jam sessions off the Wanee schedule? If so, any idea why they would do such a mean thing to us.

See you all in 2 months!!!

Count me in!

For some reason, the wife thinks a tirp to NYto see a few Beacon shows is too much. But a five hour dirve within the same state for the Wanee Festival is reasonable.

Bought five tickets and plan on renting a mac daddy RV. This music festival may never get a line-up like this again.

I'm at the airport on my way to Berlin and had to check the thread again for those suggestions from buddy_trash.

Also had to share my moment ...just as I got close to Newark, Q104 played a doubleshot.... Midnight Rider/Liz Reed... just as Liz Reed ended, I looked out the window and saw a big sign that said "Watkins"... it was a pretty cool feeling and set the vibe for my flight...
