Hey all, I was just reading through the liner notes to Eat A Peach and noticed that Butch didn't play on the track. I find that kind of odd being that he plays on every other song on the album. Does anyone know why this is?

I think he just decided it worked with what Jaimoe was playing and that he didn't need to add anything.

Is it possible that there is a typo in the credits? There is elsewhere in the Eat a Peach credits-on my copy it leaves Jaimoe out of Mountain Jam, but he is clearly playing, right there near the beginning, joining Duane with some awesome light jazzy accompaniment.

I seem to remember hearing Butch say exactly what Marley said.

I recall Butch saying they he wanted specifically Jaimoe to play this part by himself because he knew Jaimoe wold play it play it nice & funky and that was exactly what the song required......Butch was right too.....

This was my first question I asked butch back in Novemeber of 99, i heard then this site existed and Butch was present frequently, while he graciously responded with a great answer. Marley is/ was correct. Butch had always taken the lead and wanted Jaimoe to do it on this one, so it eventually seemed more fitted for Jaimoe's style and groove by himself ..Butch even complimented me for being observant.

The irony for me on subject is, I very seldon read Butch's forum (and it was the only forum I posted on for about a yr) because he stopped responding after the Dickey firing. Man I loved it when he would clear up little things like this question.
