My Instant Live Summer Set showed up today.
Thanks to all at KGE for their effort.

I have a question why the stickers on the front and back ?Why not actual type like the 03's ?

Is that how they come when ya buy them right after a show ?

Everything about the product is great except this, and I think it really lowers the quality of the product. The sticker on the back with the set list is sooo tiny.

I love it all, but this bums me out.

sorry to be a complainer.

Did you buy an Instant Live right after a show in 2003? I bought the Raleigh NC show at the store and it was like that. When I bought the Mansfield MA Instant Live right after the show all it had was a sticker of where it was. No set list, you had to download that later. I am glad they did'nt have the set list printed on back it. If it was they would be stuck to playing that set at each show. I'm sure they start of with some kind of set list but improvise to the crowds during the show.

I got the whole set from 03' from KGE .

I only get to the Beacon shows, so I waited for the set to be available.

I'm really disapointed in the sticker thing .

A suggestion for labeling the spine of the Instant Live CD’s.
I went to an office supply and purchased “Transparent labels” and inserted into my printer.
I found a type style in a WORD document that match the text on the Instant Live outer cover. I typed the date of the show in the # 8 font, cut it out and carefully
lined it up on the spine. It came out looking very nice and you cannot tell that it was
not printed on at the factory.

I think the tunes should make up for the packaging...don'tcha think?

I love it. I got the whole shebang. Came via UPS today. That's what I blew my company Christmas bonus on and it is well worth it. Don't to spoil the suprises, but it looks really nice. The metal case for the big one is really nice looking, heavy and sturdy. It will protect those great sounding shows. Thanks much to everyone at the company for getting it out to us. I'm so glad bands are offering up everything. I LOVE IT! Will spending much of '05 out on the road vicariously with the '04 shows. Peace.

The "hard case" is awsome,no doubt about it.
The music is great.
The trifold and bifold holders are great.
The stickers suck,I'm sorry but the print is miniscule and it should really be printed on the back cover just like before.

I would gladly wait the necessary time for something like this to happen in the future.

ps-the little goodies are fun as well.(the personal touch on some of them are also nice)

Always good to get input from ya'll, we don't look at it as complaining...

A couple of comments in response -

From a digipak (case) inventory perspective - the stickers make it a lot easier to respond to demand. With a printed case, the turnaround time for a reprint is much longer than that for a sticker. It also is less expensive to have an inventory of stickers vs digipacks.

I agree that the print is tiny - especially for us old farts!

I like the idea of putting the dates on the spine. I customize mine that way as well.

Any other thoughts?

JNB

Thanks for the insight JNB.

For the record,( and i think I already stated this)
I would gladly wait for a printed back cover, what are we talking another month maybe 2? I think as long as it comes out before the spring Beacon run started that would be great.

I'd like to think that these "summer Sets" are kinda special,at some point those stickers are gonna wear/come off.

Also I noticed a handwritten "number" on the top of my packing list, something like 139. How about numbering each "summer set" in some fashion, maybe on the hard case. just to make it a little more special/personalized .

please don't get me wrong,I love my "Summer Set" that showed up to NJ yesterday !

I'm listening to Jones Beach Disc one right now !

You're just going to have to strengthen those bi-focals. LOL. Actually, I have a little trouble seeing the titles myself. When I can't read them anymore, I know that'll be time to go to Wal-Mart and get some reading glasses, as I'm close to that age.

Well, I guess you'll just have to grab an ink pen, and write the songs directly on the cover before the label falls off.

Yes that is a great show. The horns on Dreams and Whipping post is incredible. I really like the Mansfield MA show. First time I heard them do Why does love have to be so sad and Franklins tower. That whole show was just incredible. Right from the start from Mountain jam it just kept getting better and better. You knew it was going to be a magical night. The fans were really into it that night. Hopefully they will play there more than once this year. They have in the past.
I cant wait to hear the fox set and here Blue sky and Les brers.

Funny you should ask ,my house is major renovations and we're not living there right now.
All of my music goes thru my shop stereo, thats not a problem, but this morning I've been sitting at the computer and listening to them.

NO PROBLEMS here.

what sort of problems are ya having ?
