When was the last time they played this great tune? Why don't they play this? I was just wondering...

I'd like them to bring back the whole acoustic portion.....its been enough time that I think it would be worthwhile. I thought it was great when they started the second set with a few acoustic tunes one year.

According to the Database, they've never played it live.

It's never been played live. (As far as what has been documented). My theory is that they're not that crazy about it; as they have several slow blue numbers and "Jelly, Jelly" is just "I'm Gonna Move to the Outskirts of Town" with different lyrics. Allegedly, the backing track was made to be "Outskirts" and they decided to write new lyrics for the writing credits... I'm not sure that's true, but musically it makes sense, since the chord progression is the same. - Personally, I'd take "Outskirts"...

I bought an early (vinyl) copy of Brothers & Sisters when it was released, and the paper insert shows "Jelly Jelly" as "Early Morning Blues". I remember asking Butch about it on AOL years ago, and all he could say was it must have been a record company SNAFU. I find it interesting just the same. Tom

ditto on the "early morning blues" lp liner notes. i love jelly, jelly and ...its the best, imo, pure blues guitar that dickey ever put down on an abb studio lp! loud, strong, hard-edge tone that goes right through you. yea, lets lobby to get this gem in the rotation.

Maybe we ought to be lobbying over at Dickey's site...
