Hey everyone! I'm completely new to this whole tape trading or whatever thing...but I'm interested and want to get started....so how do I actually get started?

And if anyone is feeling generous at all, my wish list would be

Dickey Betts - 8/13/04 - Towson, MD
ABB - 6/12/99 - Red Rocks
ABB - 3/4/99 - Beacon
ABB - 3/5/99 - Beacon
ABB - 3/8/99 - Beacon
ABB - 3/10/00 Beacon
ABB - 3/20/00 - Beacon
ABB - 3/19/04 - Beacon
ABB - 3/26/04 - Beacon
ABB - 3/27/04 - Beacon
any ABB 1991-1994 shows

..I know kind of a long list...but those are shows I went to and want to get started with...any help is greatly appreciated

Your best bet is to get registered on the 'Adopy A Newbie' part of the forum. I went there when I was new anda few people volunterred to help and someone will gladly help youaout. You will probably not get all those shows right out of the gate, but you will get started. Then keep watching the Trades forum for shows. It will all fall into place real quick.

Good luck,

Dutch

i'd get lots of mailers, stamps, tape and learn what a bnp is.
this is a good link to check out

www.mcnichol.com/bnp/

once you know what it is and how to do it (a third-grader can do it, it's not difficult), what the forums for bnp offers - theres a 5-22-93 offer down this page right now that smokes.

when you see the offer, sign up and follow the instructions - usually pm'ing the person who offered it and going from there.

good luck, it's an addictive hobby

p25texas is right. This is very addictive. I've only been doing this for about 8 months and I have almost 300 shows. I'm constantly checking the boards to see if there are any offers out there. It's all I can think about sometimes.

I think I need counseling.

I can relate to that emotion. I get really disappointed when there's not a bubble mailer in my mailbox.

I figure i'm giving him job security.

Okay...I think I got it here...

I sign up for a BnP or whatever from a person or a thread here...

Get their address

Mail them the materials with postage

And they send it back.

Right?

Right....and always use stamps for the return postage not meter strips. There's a thread here with the postal rates for the number of blanks you send. I'll bump it up.

PM me your addy & I'll send you a show.
