I was just watching it this morning on IFC, I also have it on dvd. The Who were absolute madmen. There is some great footage in this movie. When they do My Generation at Monteray, I was hysterically laughing. Roger Daltry claims, "This is where it all ends." And they proceed to irp the stage apart, all the while The Ox is still playing his bass in the background very calmly. My other favorite moments are of them in the studio recording Who Are You, and also of them at the Rock N Roll Circus doing A Quick One. Their energy was unmatched. I forgot how much I love The Who.

It is a great film. I also love the Rock and Roll Circus show. it is worth the price to see them all laughing when Yoko sings.

I think the Who have been to some extent overlooked or not given credit for how hard they rocked in a live show. I still maintane that their 1973 concert at Madison Square Garden was one of the hardest rocking, insane shows I have ever seen.
Maybe it wasn't '73 ut it was somewhere aroud that time. I just remember Keith Moon putting on headphones as they launched into the Quadraphinia part of the show...

A great film and a format that I am surprised other bands have not emulated. While straight concert films are cool enough, I like how The Kids Are Alright has scenes from various points in the Who's career. Just about any band could use this formula and portray an accurate retrospective of their time on stage.

Not only one of my favorite bands, but also one of the great great rock movies of all time. The Who were incredible, but not just because how mad they were or how much they rocked, they really had a lot to offer on several levels. Great stuff.

My favorite description of the Who was 'the thinking man's heavy metal band'. Certainly they could crank up sheer power rock with the best, and Townshend has always had a gift for songwriting. And you gotta love Boris the Spider!

my first Who concert was in 1966---- 35 shows later--- they are the greatest rock and roll band.
