Jimmy & I won't discuss politics.

That way, we'll still be friends.

Ron you'll allways be my friend, I hope, bt we probably shouldn't discuss Springsteins politics either!

This didn't get ugly 3 weeks ago when I posted it so I suppose it speaks for itself. I really expected to see some comments on this but nobody responded. Might be there isn't really anything to say. Facts are facts. You don't have to like them. It does amaze me how much attention the left is trying to focus on the the 1,000 deaths. It is tragic but in comparison to other wars (many of which we could probably agree were necessary) it is a very small number.

Thanks Ron for Bumping this though! I didn't want to do it myself and seem pushy, you know.

Blue Sky!!! WHOOOOHOOOOO (might as well get the Dicksters started as well)

You seemed to skip over Nixon, Reagan, and Bush the First. I'm sure there are some great examples in their terms you could have used.....Granada, Kuwait, Iran-Contra, etc.....

Let's see, Castro's Cuban communist troops were trying to take over Grenada, along with the communist already on the island, and that is a problem? Saddam over-runs and takes over a soveriegn nation of Kuwait, and probably could have easily kept going and taken over Saudia Arabia and the bottom peninsula oil producing countries, and Saddam would have had control of 75% of the world's oil supply, and we stopped him and drove him back. And your problem with that is? Iran-Contra was stupid in that we negotiated for hostages and worked with Iran. Past that, the Boland amendment was unconstitutional, it never held up in court once, and the idea of selling things to Iran to send arms to the Contras could fight your Sandinista communist buddies was a great idea. The bottom line being dictatorship and communism was fought against, and you were against it, says it all. IOt reminds me of the Tom harkin's and John kerry's who secretly went to Nicauragua to negotiate with the COMMUNIST Sandinistas. There it is, elections were forced there, the Sandinistas were trounced. F*ck Daniel Ortega.

I was thinking more like

It took less time for Newt Gingrich to dump his sick wife for better family values....

It took less time for Ken Lay to destroy pension funds across the country....

It took less time to destroy the environment in Texas....

It took less time for Halliburton to amass billions of dollars...

Good personal examples like that....

I'm not voting for Bush for these reasons. He and his administration connived, contrived, implemented torture targeted at a group of people who all happen to be Muslim. That's usually called religious persecution, but not in Bush's world. We are paying high prices for gas despite the fact that they are tapping into the 700+ million barrel reserve we have right here in our country. Price gouging by Americas oil companies of American citizens. I think the Patriot Act invades people's lives to the extent we will become a police state. The main reason is Bush's torture of people, violating basic human rights denying prisoners, prisoner of war status. That's my main objection, aside from his not creating new jobs and having a healty economy.

I guess you missed the news coverage about the damage to oil refineries along the Gulf coast due to the hurricanes. That's what has raised the price of gas lately. Before that the price was dropping.

PS TD Jeanne is now almost exactly 20 miles north-northwest of my house right now.
Also, why didn't you warn me about the earthquake we had Saturday. Shook stuff off the shelves.

This was a presedents fault?

It took less time to destroy the environment in Texas....
Have you ever been to Texas? The environment wasn't that great before

It took less time for Halliburton to amass billions of dollars...
When you are litterally the only company capable of doing cetain things you tend to be sucessful

Good personal examples like that....

WASHINGTON, DCFreshly unearthed public documents, ranging from newspapers to cabinet-meeting minutes, seem to indicate large gaps in George W. Bush's service as president, a spokesman for the watchdog group Citizens for an Informed Society announced Monday.

Politics is the fine art of lying to people who know you're lying and they still want to vote for you.
I think that 'none of the above should be an option in any election, and if it wins, we get a do-over with a fresh slate. I can think of a few times this would have been better.....

And frankly, those of you saying "anybody but Bush"- I sort of agree with you, but as the old saying goes, be careful what you wish for.

BILL MAHER FOR PRESIDENT!!!
Lets start a write -in campaign. He's ornery enough, smart enough, has the guts to speak his mind, and the State of the Union address would be much more fun to watch.

Thought this was funny....

Bush's Hometown Newspaper Endorses Kerry

Tue Sep 28, 1:19 PM ET

CRAWFORD, Texas (Reuters) - The newspaper in President Bush's adopted hometown of Crawford threw its support on Tuesday behind Bush's Democratic rival, Sen. John Kerry.

The weekly Lone Star Iconoclast criticized Bush's handling of the war in Iraq and for turning budget surpluses into record deficits. The editorial also criticized Bush's proposals on Social Security and Medicare.

"The publishers of The Iconoclast endorsed Bush four years ago, based on the things he promised, not on this smoke-screened agenda," the newspaper said in its editorial. "Today, we are endorsing his opponent, John Kerry."

It urged "Texans not to rate the candidate by his hometown or even his political party, but instead by where he intends to take the country."

Bush spends many of his weekends and holidays at his Crawford, Texas, ranch.

The Iconoclast's publisher and editor-in-chief, W. Leon Smith, said the newspaper is sent to Bush's ranch each week. "But I don't know if he reads it," Smith said.

The Kerry campaign welcomed the endorsement in an email to reporters.
