What do you think was the best line up of the Ringo All stars band ?
I have two dvd's, one with Greg Lake, John MIles, Rodger Hodgens ( of Supertramp),
and the other, the best so far : with Joe Walsh, three members of the Band : Rick
Danko, Garth H (sorry, forgot his lastname) Levon Helm, Dr John, Billy Preston, Jim
Keltner ,
great music, all the hits of them, at last also some Band songs, like The Weight, sung
by Levon Helm and Dr John and Rick Danko

I saw him few years ago.. I think it was Colin Hay, Shiela E ( that woman KILLS on drums. amazing!!) and the dude form Supertramp. Im told he has had much better lineups, but the show was pretty cool. Besides, being the Beatle nut that i am, i really dont care who he plays with, Im there to see the Ringo

I saw the Ringo lineup with the ex Band members and Joe Walsh and it was hot, especially Walsh, he was really on and the crowd really cheered him on. However it is hard not to consider the lineup with Walsh, Todd Rundgren, Dave Edmunds, Nils Lofgren, and Burton Cummings as the best of Ringo's All-Stars.

I saw Ringo Starr and his All-Star Band a couple of years ago at the beautifully located
Marktrock-festival in Leuven / Louvian , Belgium.
It was yet another line-up ; but what a killer !!!

Jack Bruce (Cream) on bass & vocals
Simon Kirke (Bad Company) on drums & vocals
Peter Frampton on guitar & vocals
Gary Brooker on keyboards & vocals
Ringo on Drums & Vocals

This concert was one of these great "taken by suprise" affairs.
I expected Ringo doing his (largely mediocre) solo stuff and some of his Beatles stuff
and the others would merely be a backing band!
But it was the different way around! Me and my friends still look back on this show
in a very, very positive way.
All musicians were given room to really shine by playing great versions of the songs
they made famous.
It rocked !!!

I've seen all the tours and they're all surprisingly good, but I have to say, the above lineup was probably the best. It just really really worked. Plus it was pretty cool to hear Ringo play drums on some of those Frampton & Cream songs. Gary Brooker (Procal Harum) was also just way better than I expected.

I was actually pretty impressed with that first "80's" lineup (Sheila E/Roger Hodgson etc.), I was afraid that tour would be lame, but it was still good.

But my second favorite lineup was probably the one with John Entwistle which was mostly due to to Entwistle & Zak Starkey!
