Little Wing by Jimi Hendrix has words ,
( by the way, the version by Derek & Dominoes is better that the version by Hendrix)

Little Wing has words doesn't it?

"Instrumental Illness" has been very hot at the recent shows.

Dave Brubeck's "Take Five" is one of the ultimate jazz instrumentals!

The SRV "Little Wing" is very moving and instrumental. He definitely adds on where Hendrix left off. While most just wreck Hendrix tunes it was almost like the gods liscensed him with the ability to do them and still feel original. However, LIZ REED is the quintessential instrumental. Hey that's a great name for the Allman's next untitled instrumental "Quintessential Instrumental" let's see them live up to that name.

Lots of good choices, I love all the ABB instrumentals. Here are a few more of my favorites.

East-West by the Butterfield Blues Band
Soul Sacrifice by Santana
Funky Miracle by the Meters

East-West in particular is just a remarkable piece of music and everybody should buy the album of the same name if you don't have it already. The original Mother of All Long Jams!

One club I worked at, we occasionally used that as our "party's over, now go home" exit music after we turned the lights up.

The correct name is of course: "Watermelon In Easter Hay".

I also like all three FZ versions of Peaches en Regalia.

The Bros should cover that, just for the peach tie-in.

Another good instrumental song is Too Young To Marry; known in Scotland as "My Love She's But a Lassie Yet." The earliest known printing of the tune is in Robert Bremner's Scots Reels ("Miss Farquharson's Reel"), published in 1757. For more information, see Dance to the Fiddle, March to the Fife by Samuel P. Bayard.
