This may be a little on the "sappy" side but is also positive, so please bear with..

I have been a fan of the Brothers now for over 30 years and have seen them countless times. I love all things ABB but have always been impressed with the "foundation" meaning the percussion section - There's a lot for them to hold up!!

This idea came to me while reading the thread about our favorite ABB shows - For me, it was the 25th anniversary show at the Greek Theater in LA - I never knew if the Brothers liked playing there as the locals had instituted "noise" and curfew restrictions but those of you who have been there can attest that it is a glorious place to see a show!

As I said, it was a killer show and I was lucky enough to have seats in the 2nd row. For whatever reason, I was locked on Butch all night air-drumming for all I was worth. Butch noticed and whether he was laughing at or with me, a good time was had by all. At the end of the show, he reached over the people in the first row and handed me a pair of "used" sticks which I still have.

There were other such times but I'm trying to "move this along". In 1997, we moved to Pittsburgh and my wife, 3 year old daughter, and I saw the Brothers at Star Lake - before the show started, I was carrying my little one around on my shoulders - naturally, her attention was on all of the activity on stage - she saw Butch and started waving at him - Butch came down from behind his kit, waved back to her saying, "Hi sweetheart". - a minute of his time right? -but a big impression on a 3 year old girl and her daddy!

I have read that Butch occasionally checks in - if so, Cami and her dad say Thanks!

Whoooooo Hoooooo another Happy Fan, Everyone of them when time permits go the extra mile, I have seen Gregg, Butch and Jamioe do it countless times. Gregg when I drove the band to the stage and back at the Aberdeen Show just picked up my poster that Kenny Wayne Sheppherd band had signed and asked what my name was and started signing without my even asking.

Three Cheers for the Allman Brothers!!!!!!!

I made Jack Pearson a "WELCOME BACK, JACK!" sign at his second show back after his surgery. He made me come up to the stage. Thanked me, took a good look at it and asked if he could have it. It's kind of the opposite situation, but still very cool. Wonderful musicians with wonderful attitudes, just make the music that much better!!!

Thanks for the thoughts. I don't know if you know this or not, but I used Bobo as my name for years. I was Bobo on INN for about 5 years and tried to get it when I started playing Everquest. Are you Bobo on there? I'm still known as Bobo i the on line gamers guild I belong to. BTW: Bobo is easy to type and starts with B.

Hey Butch -

I'll leave the thanks where they belong - my now 8 year old daughter still remembers U - funny how that works - I'm not on Everquest - Bobo is just short for Bob O'Brien and my other nickname, Doc, was way too hard for me to spell - LOL! Thanks again and we'll see you in Pittsburgh on 8/16.

Bob O'Brien
