I like what I heard today, ending chain immigration, reducing green cards issued, instituting a points based system of merit to come, mandating learning English, needing skills to be considered, and most of all, ending the wash up on Miami beach and head to the local welfare office and fill out the paperwork to get supported by taxpaying citizens.

none of these proposals should surprise anyone either, although there may be some debate about the final number of green cards or visas to be issued in any bill that is drafted. Most Americans agree that border security before Trump was not a story the MSM wanted to pursue or highlight how easy it is to cross.

He didn't say the must learn English, they have to speak it to come here. Where in the Constitution does it say that we are an English speaking country? Hint: it doesn't say it. We do not have a national language.

The English requirement has everything to do with assimilation into our culture, belief system and values. Probably not something our founding fathers had to address at the time. If you dont bother to learn the language there should consequences if you plan to migrate to the US.

This country was built on immigrants. European immigrants from places other than Great Britain spoke no English. They lived in places like Little Italy in NYC and places referred to as Germantown all over the country. Places like Minnesota and Wisconsin came from Sweden and Norway. None of them spoke English and they held onto their language and customs. Their children and grandchildren were the ones that slowly assimilated into American culture. There has never been a time where that assimilation was required of immigrants. It isn't an easy thing to do. I doubt someone as close minded as you are understands that.

Great.

No more Spanish speaking immigrants to harvest the crops that are already rotting in the fields.

Wonder how many of his donors are invested in agriculture and will benefit when food prices soar???

Of course he'll want to exempt his own businesses who hire foreign workers which takes jobs away from US citizens. The man talks a big game but does the exact opposite when it comes to his own businesses.

Maybe, probably not. But they mostly learned to speak English to blend in.

None of my Grandparents spoke English....most who came during the big immigration spoke their native language and few really learned English....

Only 1 of my grandparents even naturalized....My grandfather was on curfew during WWII because he was a green card holder.....but had 4 sons serving

The only word he used in English was "machine" meaning the car because in Italian La Macchina means car

The immigration plan has zero chance to pass

The free market system has completely enabled the fact that you don't need to speak English to live here. No one ever talks about that.

Great, more taxes to fund it, more federal control over the states. Will you fund this instead?

It is the language of America, and if it has not been decreed by law as such, then it needs to be. It is reasonable to set a two year time frame from the time of arrival for the person to at least be conversationally able to talk in English, ask questions to get information and be able to live in this country.

If they come illegally, send them back, if they do not want to go back, then create sanctuary cities but make it clear, they will have to learn English, do some sort of work and if they do not want a path to legal citizenship with it's responsibilities within 5 years, send them home with a blanket, a bottle of water and a boxed lunch.

Is exploiting the migrants who pick the crops a good thing? Just because they can be paid piss poor wages, while the owners still charge enough money to make a nice profit? Why do all the stores in metro New York have Mexican vegetables and fruits that they charge American prices for? Just because they can.

You do not need to know one word of English to live here, especially if you speak Spanish.

There's Spanish television networks, radio stations and newspapers. There's bilingual signage everywhere and the option of 1 for English and 2 for Espanol is everywhere. If you live in a predominantly Spanish-speaking neighborhood, your local shopkeepers most likely speak Spanish as well. I spent years as a restaurant manager. I didn't need all my Spanish-speaking workers to be fluent in English, just one or two plus a few words and phrases of my own and everything went fine.

The free market isn't patriotic and doesn't care what language you speak, if you need help spending money, it will help you.

Since when do Americans speak English? You call this English? It is a barbarian polyglot not too far from pidgin and deteriorating into an entirely different language. No point in discussing reading or writing skills, pretty much an anachronism by now.

It's amazing how scared and insecure Trump and his supporters really are. So threatened by everything. These people grew up in the US, yet they are scared to compete with third world workers. How sad.

I know, its better to paint everyone as uneducated and scared rather than try and understand a Trump voter.

I do think they are educated. Just insecure about themselves. That defines it perfectly. And if you or Trump showed that type of respect for Obama and liberals, I'd offer it. I thought you voted for people who denigrate and paint others with a brush, do I have that wrong?

Your chart's translation: wah, I don't make any money and I have to blame someone else, wah. Since when can't an American earn what they want? Where's personal accountability?

You could also correlate the decrease of Americans earning middle class incomes with the decline of unions.

Most people get alot done in 6 months. Can Congress? End Obamas unconstitutional dreamer handout as part of comprehensive immigration reform. Dissolve the executive action and deal with the ones here.
