Saw this band perform once in '77 @ The Roxy in L.A. and am surprised they've not received more attention around here.....

LOVE this band. Always thought that the reason they were not as appreciated or as huge as they should have been was that they recorded and toured when disco and early 80's pop was the big thing. I'm a huge fan of smooth jazz and jazz fusion and I can just see this band being monsters when this sort of music came into its own in the late 90's and could just see them headlining at The New Orleans Jazz Festival or Capitol Jazz Fest and all the big jazz festivals overseas too. BTW, what's Jimmy Nalls doing these days, couldn't find any current stuff on him.

Just found Jimmy Nalls Official website, very sad and sorry to find out he has Parkinsons Disease. Says he is still writing and recording though I don't know how recently his website was updated.

I saw them in the Randall Bramblett/Davis Causey era. That was one badass band!

First album is incredible. Jaimoe's finest work. Too bad the ABB was dysfunctional at this time; you would hear where they may have headed.

I had a chance to see them as a four piece band and then several times with Randall & Davis. Excellent shows & great band. Randall brought great writing talent to the band.

I think the last time I saw them was when I traveling for work and had a stopover in Atlanta. I believe the venue was called the Agora Ballroom????

Interesting thought, looking back, one might think the rest of the band would have seen and realized what a top notch musician they had in Chuck; musical differences, opposite directions.

"That's Your Secret" holds up very well. Great, great song by current standards. As much as I hate to admit remembering - you'd hear this one occasionally in the discos back in the day. White suits with black shirts unbuttoned to the navel ... enough cocaine to kill a horse. Dancing to 'Secret! God I hated discos!
