Just got in a bit ago.

I'm not much of a fan of The Band - let's get that out of the way right now. Appreciate them but I like a little harder edge to things.

That being said, it's a nice show. Onstage about 7:35, off stage around 10:15.

Warren/Jamey Johnson/Michael McDonald pretty much split vocals evenly. They sound pretty good all singing together, which they do quite often.

Guitarist for Radiators played 3 songs, New Orleans style music - definitely the highlight tracks for me. Bob Margolin doing Muddy's Mannish Boy was pretty fun, too.

The slower ballad type songs I could skip.

Jamey Johnson does an amazing version of Georgia on My Mind, w Warren adding a real nice blues guitar solo.

Terrence Higgins on drums is awesome, too. Horns were great. John Modeski does several organ solos - a bit too much at times, IMHO.

Warren played that silver Strat the whole first set, switched to the Les Paul for set 2.

No mention of Butch.

Thank you for the r
No mention of Butch?? That's surprising. Seems cold. Especially considering how conscious and creative Warren is when it comes to these things. I wonder why not.

Well, it has to be a strange situation since these shows are billed as "Last Waltz" shows honoring The Band. Warren may feel beholden to fans who came in with that expectation, and the musicians may not all know the Allman Bros' catalogue. Or maybe The Band's music was a welcome distraction for Warren. I'm sure it was not done with cold intent, knowing Warren's great appreciation for every musician around him. Either way, I wouldn't overthink it.

I agree, wasn't implying anything by mentioning, just figured someone would ask "did he mention Butch?"

How was this show, I am really on the fence on going Saturday night.
I've read mixed reviews, common complaint that people feel it turns into a Michael McDonald showcase.

you like the Last Waltz music, and a Band fan go see. get over the Micheal Mc Donald thing.he is a part of the program. and doesn't dominate anything.

I saw the first original version last May at Jazz Fest. NOLA. was awesome. had a few more guests . local musicians.. I saw the first night last Sat in Hollyrock FLA, and enjoyed it quite the same/.....Its a well orchestrated production. almost 2.5 plus hrs of great tunes.... GO GO GO....
