Correct me please if I am wrong, (Bhawk usually does ) but in my memory, I think most if not all Presidents and Vice Presidents, once they leave office, usually refrain from speaking out on what the current administration does or doesn't do, holding their criticism, not really saying anything.

I do recall Dick Cheney doing some yapping but I think it was him trying to explain or correct the record on what they had done or not done, not speaking against the current admin - again, correct me if I am wrong here.

Not wanting this thread to turn into a bashing session of former Presidents, I am just saying it seems to have been a long standing thing that former's don't speak bad about current's.

I want to put this out there now, because - just my opinion, but I don't see Pres. Obama keeping his mouth shut, months down the road.

Time will certainly tell and I hope I am wrong.

Rare, yes, but happens.

quote:
"I look at Barack Obama and I see the worst president of my lifetime, without question." Dick Cheney, February 2015

W criticized Obama's actions on Israel and Iraq in 2015. Carter has criticized W. Several have made veiled remarks about Trump.

President of the United States is the most exclusive club in the world. Just over 7 billion people on the planet and as of right now, there's all of five people, soon to be six, that know what it's like to sit in that chair.

As to what is said in the future, I would think that depends on what the situation is that anyone is commenting on.

One can hope that golf is the main agenda item on the 21st. That would be the best if 44 acted like 43 and was never heard from again. However, I can see 44 picking up twittering and social media as a foil to 45 . 45 should be given a honeymoon period though of at least a minimum 100 days of no interference.

Ari Fleischer, who did the interview, said that George W did not mention Obama by name and intentionally tried not to critique him. The two of them are really good friends it seems from photos.

45 has already had...what 3 honeymoons with trophy wives, and you now want a 100 days?

For all the criticisms Trump has leveled for years at Obama and questioned his citizenship, pay back should be hard. But Obama is a far more decent human being than Trump and will probably take the high road.

Trump's 100 days will probably be just like the last 100 days - stepping in it, tweeting stupid things, and picking fights with anyone who dares question him.

There's more.

http://www.aljazeera.com/news/2017/01/trump-ousts-attorney-general-defying- muslim-ban-170131031449765.html

US President Donald Trump has sacked the country's acting attorney general after she took the rare step of defying the White House by refusing to enforce his sweeping immigration ban. Sally Yates had early on Monday ordered Department of Justice lawyers to stop defending Trump's executive order, resulting in her dismissal just hours later.

"The acting attorney general, Sally Yates, has betrayed the Department of Justice by refusing to enforce a legal order designed to protect the citizens of the United States," the White House press secretary's office said in an unusually caustic statement.

"Ms Yates is an Obama Administration appointee who is weak on borders and very weak on illegal immigration."

Remarks: As a Department of Justice employee, they have to support the laws of the land. President Trump enacted an order halting travel and immigration from the seven nations, Iran, Iraq, Libya, Somalia, Sudan, Syria and Yemen. In her position (job), she cannot legally determine if his order/legislation is Constitutional or not, and even if it is not, she cannot advise people to ignore it. In her job, she has to enforce the laws of the country. If as a private citizen she advocates ignoring it, that is different. A justice employee cannot advocate violating the laws.

We all know the Patriot Act was unconstitutional, but no one in Washington except one brave Senator stood up against it, pointing out that it was unconstitutional. Maybe that should be repealed and replaced with something lawful. Maybe Rand Paul can start working on that, since the abuses by the NSA and Homeland Security exist.

There are six other times Presidents have banned people from certain nations from travelling to our country.

http://www.aljazeera.com/indepth/features/2017/01/times-banned-immigrants-1 70128183528941.html

Chinese, Jews, Iranians etc. were all banned at one point or another. We put Japanese into segregated prison like camps. This could be why former Presidents and Vice Presidents are not saying anything.

Bring it on!

EXCLUSIVE: Barack Obama's close confidante Valerie Jarrett has moved into his new DC home, which is now the nerve center for their plan to mastermind the insurgency against President Trump

Obama's goal is to oust Trump from the presidency either by forcing his resignation or through his impeachment, a family friend tells DailyMail.com
Jarrett has moved into the 8,200-square-foot, $5.3-million Kaloroma mansion to work closely with the former president and Michelle Obama
Jarrett lived in the White House, dined with the Obamas, and helped shape his domestic and foreign policies
Obama cannot use his West End office, a post-presidency perk, for political purposes
'He's coming. And he's ready to roll.' former Attorney General Eric Holder said yesterday about the former president's reentry into the political scene

So him saying he was going to be for changes to how Congressional districts are drawn was really just a cover for this?

I really hope that you don't believe this in any way. The funny part of the article was Trump comparing Obama to Nixon during Watergate.

You realize we are talking about Donald Trump, right?

Fake news is his specialty. His followers don't need any proof. Accusations are all he needs. Just look at the posts by his supporters right here in the Whipping Post. Trump's supporters are nothing if not loyal. They will believe anything he says and proof isn't necessary.
