Well, just won tickets tickets to this show from the local rock station here in Dallas. This show has been through here the past few years, but I've never been to it. Anyone else gone before? The lineup this year looks good. Buddy Guy, Jonny Lang, Kenny Wayne Shepherd, Zakk Wylde, Dweezil Zappa, Billy Cox, Chris Layton, Ana Papovic, etc. If you have seen it, give me your thoughts. Thanks.

I went in Bham 1-2 years ago. Thought it was a lot of fun, even if I wasn't a huge fan of most of the artists.

Free tickets - that certainly makes it worth checking out!!!

I went years ago when Mick Taylor was in the line-up. It was a fun night that exposed me to plenty of players I had not really considered. Kenny Wayne Shepard was excellent!

A downside is that you might feel like you wish some folks had more playing time.

It sounds like an excellent free ticket to get!!

I wish I had known about these gigs years ago as when I went to my first one this year it was very good.It was the first time I saw Zakk Wylde and I dug his antics.Dweezil did a nice job as did Lang and Sheppard. Buddy was the only player that did not do Hendrix songs but that was ok with me as he is so good.Jimi Hendrix used to say that his idea of Heaven was sitting at Buddy Guy's feet and hearing him play. I was lucky enough to see Billy Cox at the Fillmore with Band of Gypsies and he is still rocking' it. You will dig this show!

Not weighing in on this tour, but I did recently watch an episode of Jay Leno's Garage where he had Kenny Wayne Shepherd on the show.

Turns out Kenny Wayne is most definitely a car guy and a Mopar guy at that, very knowledgeable and a generally nice kid.

Jay has this bit where he blindfolds his guest, takes him for a ride in a car and the guest is supposed to guess what it is - it is a TV show I know, but Kenny Wayne did very well on this part.

I saw the show in 2014. Many of the same players as now. Had heard most of them before and got to hear some I wasn't familiar with. A couple of players weren't listed on the lineup (Brad Whitford and Jon Buthcher, as I recall) so there might be some surprises. Hadn't seen the show before so I didn't know quite what to expect. I was a bit worried about the possibility of too many cooks spoiling the proverbial musical pot (like those all-star jams when you get too many people on stage at once for my taste) but that didn't happen. I thought the show was put together very well as far as the amount of musicians onstage at any one time, the pacing of band member changes, and the choice of songs covered. Got turned onto some musicians I probably wouldn't have heard otherwise and had a blast from start to finish! The show ran 3 hours and 20 minutes with a 20 minute intermission about halfway through. Well worth the $35 I spent on a GA ticket.
