I have tickets to see TTB and Jack Pearson at the Tennessee on Jan 26. Great band but I just have been underwhelmed with Susan the last few times I have seen them. I'm not a hater, but if she would just dial it back a little...

Had to pass on TTB in Louisville last night, kickin' myself this morning.... Can't miss my KY Wildcats devouring Michigan State though.

Going to the show would have been an easy decision for me. One of the best live bands out there right now.

I think they are definitely THE best live band out right now. Weeknight show made it tough and its about an hour drive to Loserville. Wouldn't have gotten back home til about 1am and had to punch the clock at 6 the next morning. Trust me, it was hard to pass.

Coming down for this as well, excited to see Jack for the first time, still can't get over the whole Squier thing. Also got my Ryman tickets for the Friday show in March, pretty good seats on the floor. I've never been to the Ryman before, can't wait!

The Ryman is very cool. The seats are just old church pews, and are hard as hell, so maybe take a cushion. The room has a vibe that no other venue has because of the history.

Have you ever been to the Tennessee? I would put it up against any other theater that I have ever been to, including the Fox in Atlanta. And, downtown Knoxville has a multitude of places to eat and drink before the show.

Jack Pearson is the **** . Period. Actually, there's no telling what guitar he will play that night. I have seen him play Fenders and Gibsons. That Squier he played in the All My Friends show was a go to axe for him for quite a while. He played it at the GABBAfest that one year. I think he said he paid $90 for it.

I get that. At least you have a few other chances to see them. They seem to come to my neck of the woods in the summer.

Had jury duty at 26th and California today - not a great place, next to the Cook County jail. Luckily they let us go at noon - the trial was cancelled. So I went to Lagunitas Brewery, which was about a mile away. I was sitting there drinking their Willetts bourbon barrel Imperial Stout - which was very tasty. In walks Tom Ricketts, owner of the Cubs, with 2 other guys. They sit at the table next to me. After the brewmaster and GM from Lagunitas talked to them, I went over and talked to them for a few minutes. Told them I was a Cardinals fan, but congratulations anyway.... Told them my dad was a big fan and had waited 88 years. Told them my Harry Carey and Jack Brickhouse story. They were real nice, and I got to shake his hand a couple of times. My Cub fan relatives were jealous..... Also got to talk to the brewmaster for a few minutes too....

Cool experience definitely.

Did you happen to mention to Ricketts a Cubs fan friend of yours who in 2014 in a pub in Manchester, Iowa stated that prior to 2020 that the Cubs would win at least one World Series? And how that Cubs fan was heartily scoffed at?

Not familiar with the Harry Caray/Brickhouse story.

I was in a meeting with Governor Ricketts prior to last season starting. Hadn't met him before that. I immediately brought up the Cubs and we took off talking for at least five minutes while everyone else was waiting to start the meeting. (Screw them )

He said he didn't know that they could match the 97 wins from 2015 or not but that the idea is make the playoffs as often as you can (pretty much the strategy of most teams I'd guess ) and cash in some of those chances in the Series (hopefully).

Glad they got that out of the way!
