I agree, pops42 is not very smart. You seem to like him anyhow, maybe you have a lot in common.

Anyhow, thanks for pointing out how easy it would have been for him to start a thread with a non-subscriber link instead. Even a few words about how he feels about the story. Like I can't read the new for myself...

Then again, the less he types, the less dumb he looks.
Thats entertaining, coming from a brain-dead troll like you, perry blumkin.

I tried the link and got the subscriber window as well and then I tried again and got access without subscription. Moving to a subscriber model is complicated for a newspaper as they still need traffic. My experience is that when newspapers initially transition to a subscriber model.they try and slowly draw in subscribers and as this number increases they proportionally reduce free access.

It sounds like you have multiple problems with the way pops posted this link. To ape Ben Carson this was your "gotcha moment."

My interpretation is that pops started a new thread because the other thread on Carson and his character embellishments had been diverted to an attack on the source. This new discovery was simply another example of a likely Carson fabrication, and these are beginning to pile up as none of them can be corroborated. it seems that Carson has put together a fictive persona specifically created to appeal to right wing audiences.

This diversion would spare you the humiliation of supporting a character who doesn't really exist. Given how slippery liberals are Carson could simply be another Colbert.

The racist liberals exposed yet again:

ďSafe NegroĒ: Why Liberals Are Scared of Ben Carson
Posted On 04 Nov 2015

Over the last week, weíve seen liberals make some despicable comments about Republican presidential candidate Ben Carson. The same libs who cry ďdog whistleĒ every time a conservative says anything that might be in the same hemisphere as a racial remark are throwing their colorblindness to the wind as they desperately try to cling on to their divisive narrative.

ďThe really important thing [about] people supporting him,Ē said L. Joy Williams, the president of NAACPís Brooklyn chapter, ďbecause itís ĎOh, thereís another black man commenting negatively against the president and I donít feel comfortable in doing so because of the race factor.í So hereís someone who can do it.Ē

In other words, white people have been stifling their criticisms of Obama for fear that they might be labeled racists. But hereís the glorious answer Ė a black conservative who can say all these racist things and be immune to the consequences. Carsonís like a superhero, empowered not by the yellow sun but by his darker shade of skin.

Williams went on to say that Carson represented a ďsafe negroĒ that white conservatives could support.

Then, in response to a story in the National Review that pointed out the leftís obvious hypocrisies when it came to racial politics, Brian Beutler of the New Republic made this snide remark on Twitter:

Goldberg genuinely believes that tokens confound the racial critique of U.S. conservatism.

So thatís the other side of it. Whites are enraptured by this free pass to be as racist as they want, and anyone who thinks this proves that America is making progress is delusional.

They just canít get past the color of a manís skin. Or any minority classifications, for that matter. This is why Hillary Clinton didnít think it was ridiculous to say that the biggest difference between herself and Obama was that she was a woman. To her, that is the biggest difference and it would be so even if she had a drastically different take on his policies. To these liberals, nothing can trump these superficial characteristics.

Itís amazing (and a little amusing) the lengths theyíll go to in order to protect their worldview. How vicious they will be to a black man who doesnít toe the line. They despise any minority who embraces conservatism. Itís the ultimate betrayal.

Why? Well, the Democratic Party can only thrive by preaching a message of division. Blacks vs. Whites. Women vs. Men. They use these divisions because theyíre (largely) fixed.

Immutable. You canít change your race, so you canít get a fair shake in White America. And they gradually spread that philosophy around until it encompasses nearly everything and everyone. Being poor, then, becomes an identity and not a circumstance. The only solution? Change the rules of the game.

So when a black man comes along as the living proof that there are no obstacles that canít be overcome through self-discipline and determination, they are forced to scramble. They cannot afford to let Ben Carson become the standard. So they insult him and they insult anyone who supports him. Donít listen, black people! Itís a trick! You canít succeed like he did! White people are just using him to fool you into thinking they arenít racists!

This narrative, in an ironic way, actually winds up making Carson an even more attractive candidate. Not so we can prove to these idiots that we arenít racist, but so we might have a chance to undo the terrible damage this narrative is causing to our country.

The good doctor writes an autobiography, states or implies various things, and then cries attack when anyone challenges his assertions.
This does not seem like an individual who has the backbone to be POTUS. Maybe he should just continue writing books...possibly a continuation in the category of fiction.

Then again, maybe he can lead a tour to the pyramids, as he seems to have an alternate reality for that also.

As time moves forward we're sure to learn more fascinating facts about the man of impeccable character.

I'm truly intrigued by his tax plan and how the numbers don't add up. Carson says they do, but then won't expand upon that. Maybe alloak can fill in the blanks & explain how the math supports the premise of the tax plan for his admired candidate.

personally i am not concerned about dr. carsons lies or fabrications or exaggerations or mis-remembering or truths. if he would become president i would be more concerned about his lack of political knowledge and foreign policy understanding. i also would be concerned about how and who he would bring to his team. worried about who is telling him who to bring to his team.

this other stuff is just reinforcing that for me, no matter what actually happened in the past.

From Joseph building the pyramids to store grain to the earth being 6000 years old, literally being built in 7 days and all manner of goofy stuff in-between, Carson has multiple screws loose. The idea of the equivalent of a fundamentalist mullah being commander in chief is more than a little frightening, with literal interpretations possible about end days and Armageddon on his mind. Press the button, the biblical prophecies are happening. Why wouldn't he, if he believes the crazy stuff he says he believes, despite having been trained in medicine? The guy is terrifying.

You have been caught lying again.

Maybe alloak can fill in the blanks & explain how the math supports the premise of the tax plan for his admired candidate.

ďSafe NegroĒ: Why Liberals Are Scared of Ben Carson

Wrong. Just because you say something, it doesn't mean it is true. Opinion pieces are just that, opinions. You posted that opinion piece as if it was fact. The last people you should go to about how any liberal feels about anything is a conservative site. That is like going to the New England Patriots site to get an opinion on who will win next years World Series.

You don!t decide what is a reliable source and what isn't!t. The fact is, you are not qualified to tell truth from function.
