As you may know, Hittin’ the Note is going to have a table in the lobby of the Beacon.

Each night we are going to be giving away several cool items.

We’ve got some thoughts in mind, but wanted your input as well...

What kind of contest would be fun?

What would you like as a prize?

Any other comments/input?

Thanks,

JNB

How about tickets and hotel for a show since I got in first answering the survey?

And I can't get there this year any other way.

And even that may be pushing it.

Consider it done....NOT!

On a much smaller scale I was thinking about things like:

a free subscription to the one who traveles the fartherest

a great gift for the fan that bring us the most new subscribers

along those lines...

Hi Carole bluefox!

I was so happy when you won the Charlotte subscriber referral! Bring some more new subscribers to our table at the Beacon and you just never know what you may win!

That guy in the size medium EAP shirt needs a new shirt in XL so we don't have to see his belly anymore, please get him to sign up and give him a new shirt.

What does the "dankiest dank" mean? Sounds kind of "skanky!"

I think a contest like " A Free signed 35th Anniversary poster to the first person from Wantagh, New York with 'Scammer' in their Screen Name" would really bring up some interest. If not then how about a free subscription each night to the person who guesses the opening song. Use post cards for the persons name and address and their choice of song and in case of numerous correct answers put the correct ones in a bin and pick out one winner. Post it at your table so the winner will know they won. Good Luck, and enjoy your stay here.
Be safe,
John

I think your suggestion is a great one!

No, not the first suggestion

OK - so come by the table - put your guess in the fishbowl and if you win, stop by after the show for the prize or tie-breaking drawing.

NYCScammer - you just won a Long Sleeve Hittin the Note T-Shirt - what size do you wear? PM me with address to send it to...

Could we also auction off one of those "get out of jail free cards" as well

Looking forward to meeting ya'll! New Yorkers always make us feel so welcome!

I think John has an inside track on those.

JNB, if you are going to have an opening song guessing fish bowl, can't you have an encore song fish bowl as well? or is that too many bowls? or did I just have too many bowls tonight?

How about trivia questions for each night? ABB trivia! I bet you could get some good questions from the "on this day in history" section on the site here. Or just trivia questions in general.

Or how about "Top 10 reasons I love the ABB at the Beacon" and you could choose the best ones and maybe run some of the lists in HTN magazine later on?

Or fill a jar with peach candies and guess how many candies are in the jar?

Hey Joe,
My parents always said I was a real winner, now I guess it's true. Except I don't think this was quite what they meant by winner when they said it. Thanks for awarding me the shirt.
This might be the last year that I can get my hands on one of those "get out of jail free cards", so if someone needs one get in contact with me real quickly. Please keep it off the streets and you probably won't need one. And since I'm on the subject, an open beer in a paper bag can get you a summons or worse in NYC. Everyone be careful and we'll all do fine. See you at The Beacon.
Be safe,
John

Aint that the truth! i went stumbling down from the rooms with a beer in my hand last year and almost missed the show because of it!

Linnie,
I remember that from last year. Everyone else remember, inside you are OK with liquid refreshments (alcoholic), once you step onto a sidewalk or any other public place all bets are off.
Be safe,
John
