Please chime in with suggestions. We all must have a few favorites.

At least once during the run, I go to Umberto's Clam House in Little Italy. Not right around the corner, but a reasonable subway ride with one transfer. Linguine with Shrimps in Spicy gravy. If weather allows you can have a nice cannoli/espresso dessert al fresco in the neighborhood.

I heard Barb makes a nice lasagne.

And she's not far from the Beacon.

Yes, I do Ron. But...I"LL BE AT THE BEACON HOTEL with everyone else. I'll probably eat down at Montes in Greenwich Village.(97 MacDougal Street, between 3rd and Bleecker) Quick subway ride downtown and worth the trip. Resonably priced, the best veal chop and great tiramasu.

Wow Barb, I'm impressed.

I never thought you'd respond so quick!

Fast food the next two days for us.

We'll be in Binghamton this weekend. Derek has the State Finals for the Odyssey of the Mind competition.

Or, as his hockey team mates call it, the Brain Contest.

Sure wish I wasn't gonna miss the March Get-together.

We'll have to gather in 'Cuse in August.

Good old OM!

There's a place right next to the Beacon hotel, I don't remember the name.

I like Zen Palate, about a block north of the Beacon, same side.

Forget the name, but also a really good Greek 2 blocks up from the Beacon on Broadway and 75th. It's on the North West corner (so if you walk 2 blocks up from the Beacon turn left and cross the street).

that Sang is a pistol! too funny!

I'm in search of the Soup Nazi this year....he is at 56th or something, i have it wrriten down at work. I'm also looking for the Perfect Corned Beef Special and Reuban.

I also get a lot of food at the Cinderella bakery place right in front of the hotel, and the fairway next door. just dont go to the fairway drunk; you'll be lost for an hour. everything is smaller and much more crowded in NYC...but the foods are outstanding.

diet? what diet? ooooo that diet.....

I like Planet Sushi for pre-show meals. The price isn't bad, and the food is well prepared and quite tasty. It's usually our first stop when we're not staying at the Beacon. Then we head up to Jake's Dilemma for the half price all day Saturday happy hour.

Northwest wasn't bad the one time we went there, and I've wanted to go to River a few times, but the timing didn't work.

But when we stay at the Beacon, we try to save a little cash by eating and drinking in the room a little more.

Anybody ever eaten at the Shark Bar? I've heard mixed reviews.

We love Big Nick's so much we decided to get a hotel closer to it. I wouldn't advise using the bathroom there, however.

It was Umberto's where Crazy Joe was whacked.

And Daryl, thanks for the warning about the restroom at Big Nick's!
