Saw it in today's Syr. Post Standard.

One of the first shows to be announced. Right in our back yard for the first time in 4 years!

Neil, you better make the short drive down, it's a Friday night show!

Then the following Wed, we get ZZ Top.

Looks like fun.

Barb, wear a Dinosaur shirt.

Red Rocks is in Colorado, but that particular part of the state does get 300 days of sunshin per year, so you're half right. Now rock on!

Ever see the movie 'Old School'

"Ah, Denver. The Sunshine State, beautiful!"

One of my favorite lines.

Also love in Dumb & Dumber when driving through Kansas?, "Rocky Mountains my ass! That John Denver is full of sh|t!"

I was hoping to head to CO. this summer. ABB at Red Rocks would be great. And of course anything on the east coast will be great w/me...the season is almost here and the Beacon kicks it all off....

I'll be there, Ron. Hey Neil, you'd better come down.
I'm pretty sure we won't have to twist Karen's arm to get her and Lynn down there!

Nevermind the Dinosaur shirt Ron... I'm gonna wear a "nice shirt".

We'll see what the other shows look like. Darien may be out this year. That is one expensive day. And a long drive home. I'd like to hit Scarnton and do Lam Jam. Or maybe Saratoga. Gotta get all the CNY, Canada, and downstate folks together for this one.

The Allmans at Red Rocks is like some kind of mystic convergence that cannot be described, you've just got to be there. Either that or the altitude & all the steps to the head had something to do with it.

Hey Ron,

Saratoga Springs is outstanding. It is a state park so it is not the free-for-all that Darien is; but the venue is covered and dug into a hillside surrounded by forest. One of my favorite venues in North America (I have been to many, perhaps too many). The sound is spectacular there too.

Saratoga or Ottawa would be outstanding (toes crossed)

Count me in for the NYS fair show. In my 28 years I have never missed a Fair. I was practically born there. It wouldn't be summer without the Great New York State Fair. The Allmans and ZZ Top I can't wait.

Phillybob,

Made the 13 hour trip from northern WI to PG/Star Lake last year and don't regret it for a minute!! I had become spoiled with the small indoor venues like Northrup in Minneapolis and the Chicago Theater, but that 7/26 show reminded me of the beauty of an outdoor summer evening show. Don't think you'll regret it if you make the trip.

Have a good one,

Ron

Hey Ron - I thought you started to regret it during that drive back home!
Great seats though, weren't they?

I know. When I was in High School, my aunt & uncle lived outside Balston Spa. I spent many weekends there.

We'd drive down for the show and stay at their house afterward.

Saw Loggins & Messina's last show there. Heart opened. Their 1st US tour and they were incredible. Put them in the thread about opening acts who were better than the headliner.

Also saw MTB, Doobie Bros. Arlo Guthrie & Pete Seeger, Fleetwood Mac, Little Feat, Thorogood, Linda Ronstadt, CSN, and Jackson Browne, to name a few. And we saw ABB in 97? Dickey & Jack lineup. Stayed in the same hotel as the band.

Great sound either on the lawn or inside. I've been in both spots equally.

No lie - last year's show was magic. If that's true, I know where we are spending our vacation.

Red Rocks?

Must have been thread-jacked.

We were in Syracuse to begin with.
