I just learned ABC is broadcasting a program to raise money for cancer research and the Who are scheduled to perform. The show starts 8 p.m. EST.

It is a fundraiser to fight cancer . My loved is suffering now so if The Who are able to help raise money I am grateful.
Sorry you are unable to enjoy them.
I enjoyed the Super Bowl show and I will enjoy tonight.

The truth is when entwistle died he was not considered a member of the who according to the insurance rider. They were told that had to tour or the insurance company was going to sue them for millions. They did not want to tour but couldn't afford not to as wrong as it may have been.Besides Townsend calls them who2 he doesn't like the name much either.

It's amazing that people didnt complain when fake skynyrd toured right after two originals dird.

you have 1/2 the who. it was 4 now 2

how do you enjoy the current ABB?
original group was 6 guys now we are down to 3. thats also 1/2 and the leader, duane, and guy who wrote or cowrote about 70% of the bands material starting with brothers and sisters, dickey, is gone.

at least the who still have the main songwriter and leader

They should have canceled but the band didn't insure the tour and stood to loose huge $$ if they didn't play. One friend lost and a lesson learned.

Pino, while a good bass player is not in the same category as John. Derek - to me - emulates (in his own style) and has the chops of Duane. And personally Warren can kick Dickey's ass all over the stage. That's how.

I am a huge Who fan and agree that the band without Moon and Entwistle is not the real deal, that said it is rather funny to hear people on an Allman Brothers site disparage a band for continuing on without original members.I love both bands and they well might be my 2 favorites of all time and the truth is they both have had huge losses and persevered.I do think the Allmans have ended up in a better place at the end of their run but I do not begrudge Townsend and Daltry the chance to continue on for as long as they desire!

I bet to differ but to each their own.

On a side note what is wrong with the forum where posts don't post for hours? Are they bing reviewed by someone or just a glitch?

With his obvious talents, I doubt that. But one thing is for sure to these ears, the student has passed the teacher.

Left him in the dust

Skynyrd didn't tour from 1977 - 1987. The Rossington Collins Band was around for two or three years in the early 80's if that is what you are talking about.

They lent their names and craft to helping defeat cancer. How can you - how dare you begrudge them?

I think The Who were Monumental with Keith Moon & the original 4. Keith was 'crazy' on drums & a sight & half the show himself. After he left they were still great with Pete & the 2 originals & really enjoyable..luved The Ox! I was really disappointed at 1 period when Pete had the 2nd guitarist. The chemistry of bands is important, few duplicate it again.

Since with the 2, & Pino (Pino's a great choice) I'm sure they're good but...sorry..calling them The Who might be a bit rich.I'm sure they're 'good' but a fraction of what they were. There are a lot of tribute bands which are great too, they're young & give 'high energy' shows. It's like when Page & Plant went out..they didn't call themselves Zeppelin! but they were great, but not 'the 4'
