I think it's finally starting to happen. Nearly 600 tickets are available for scalp-a-thon (AKA the Allmans last show) on stubhub and prices are starting to drop. Today the cheapest pair to get in the door is $445/ticket. You can get into the orchestra for $535. Singles are cheaper of course.

In a turn of great irony, I was sitting around on the day the last show went on sale and casually tried for a pair on the TM app and scored 2 in the nosebleeds. Still trying to figure out what to do with them. For some reason hotels in NYC are crazy expensive in October. I'm so pissed off at the Allmans I'm not sure if I could really enjoy the show. Maybe next time I'm in NYC on business I'll slip 'em to a homeless guy.

I would take that pair if you are looking to unload. Please let me know as we get closer. Hotels are always expensive in NYC during the week in non-summer months.

Thanks,

I'll take them if they're interested. I live right near the Beacon.

NYLO is $332 the night of the 27th. About the same as I paid in March.

Just made a reservation at NYLO. My experience has been that just like the tickets, the NYLO hotel rooms will drop in price the closer to the date we get. You just need to keep canceling your reservation and re-reserving at the new rate. A hassle for sure but worth the savings.

It's a decent hotel. The bell staff really helped me out storing my bag until after the second show. I checked out the day of my second show and caught the 3 am train back home. It was nice to be unencumbered of my duffel.

I did complain about the room though. They stuck me next to the elevator on the fifth floor. It wasn't that bad but I'm hoping to use that experience to get a better room next time.

I recall this one time when I was out on the sidewalk at the warfield theater trying to get tickets to a dead show. There was this guy who was with the band that had a bunch of extras and was selling them. I was trying to crack the code as to who he would sell to - seemed anonymous - then I realized - he would only sell to people who didn't ask him to. I realized that too late. D'oh!

I did get in the next night though. :-)

I like that method.

I scalped tixs for the e street band reunion tour in 99 paid 200 each for last row only to find a scalper outside the garden offering 2 tickets for ten dollars due to having so many left and yes they were real.In Montreal a girl sitting next to me scalped her ticket outside was able to get in and then found out is was fake she was kicked out after paying 450 CA.i know a little off topic but....I did pay half price for a Bob Seger ticket at the last minute.I would wait deals will be a plenty.Just stay away from paper tickets.2000 fake ones sold in Boston on U2 tour.

I know someone who jumped and bought from a broker. She then found out a friend had an extra.ao tried to resell on the same site. And no buyers have offered even after she reduced her price. Her original intention was to try and sell outside the venue and I warns her the "real" fans outside the venue on the night of the show were NOT going to pay up at all but it fell on deaf ears. I wish her good luck but she should be happy to get face by then.

I do not understand why this site lets the ad below appear.

Just a thought about hotel prices dropping as the Allman dates get closer......The NYC Marathon is taking place on 11/2. Thousands of people from all over the world come to NYC to run. The hotels in the neighborhood are usually booked solid. Many people come in days before the Marathon, I see them running all around this neighborhood....... If you need a hotel room close to the Beacon Theater don't wait until the last minute to book it.....you might be disappointed.

I'll bet your ad is different than my ad, which was something to do with the NC Bar Association before I hit reply, and now is for an investment company.

It makes plenty of sense to advertise on a site frequented by so many people so often.

Yet still OVER face value. A scalper is a scalper - period.

Agreed rusty.. But if you wanna go to the show you gotta play by their rules...which sucks for most of us that can't afford 3x face value

Agreed Rusty. To me $25 hardly seems worth the bother of fairly being labeled a mother f@@@ing scalper as deserved

This is my take on this. I think prices are going to drop (not dramatically) until the actual run happens. Once the shows begin, prices will go up and I believe the last two shows in particular are going to be impossible to get. I am looking at a back orchestra or a lower balcony ticket from ebay and stubhub for the 27th. I just don't want to pay an additional fee for shipping on top of the ticket.

Well I bought the ticket for 250 with a nominal shipping fee. One of my retirement gifts to myself.

I think it is going to be impossible for people to find a pair to the final show that is not a least $100 over face. it really sucks, but that's how it works when you don't have WIll Call only.

The best way to get into the Building with a friend is to find a row on the secondary market where there are some cheaper singles and try to get as close to each other as possible.
