That's hysterical. Email me at bump827@yahoo.com if you want to meet at The Beacon

Nicely played. Busted a gut when I read that.

Just hoping he makes it through. So many negative comments lately; Gregg just so much wants to be out on stage. I know that it is all about making money - I just don't think that there has been any malicious intent on the part of the ABB.

I don't think any of us wish Gregg badly. But as I've said for years "it is what it is". A lot of us are just wary after he's cancelled four sets of shows already this year. I'm a realist and "luckily" I didn't pay over face for any of the shows I have coming up nor do I have travel expenses.

likewise, im thinking of reality...........and reality of gregg's situation......

sadly, i have travel expenses........

and the only ticket i paid for over face price was for the 3-22 show from this past year....

i bought the ticket earlier in the week (it was 240 i believe for an orchestra seat)....

the night before was my birthday...........i got shut out on the 3-22 tickets..........and while i did make other musical plans to see bill frisell on the 22nd----i just couldnt see being in NYC and not seeing the brothers.....

and i didnt want to take the chance of being burnt on the street from a scalper or otherwise......so i went the stubhub route...

i wish i kinda waited til day of though (i get antsy if i dont have ticket and logistics figured out) as stub hub prices dropped a bunch on the day of.......oh well.....

and i'll say it right now----i dont see gregg being able to finish this beacon run...

he will miss at least one show---no more than 3 though........

Wasn't talking about this thread; on some other threads over the last few months there's been a lot of anger about how the management/Gregg have been acting in regards to this. I don't see malice; just a sick man hoping it will go away.

The anger came about when it seemingly took forever to reschedule the Beacon dates while Gregg - or his management - was adding Gregg's own bands shows and Gregg was spouting how he didn't care that Derek was leaving and mentioning dates that were impossible at The Beacon. As for myself, I don't wish him badly but this was no way for the ABB to end it. This year - if this IS it - has been a travesty.

Whatever it is, it's a sad time for ABB fans. Without Gregg it's not ABB.
In fact, this current lineup has taken the band to heights simply unforeseen. Thank you Warren.
And thank you Derek. And Marc.

It just is what it is. I thank them for many many memorable shows. The last bunch of years I have not seen one band that holds a musical candle to them. They are almost too tight, too jazzy, and when they really do the blues, they are the bluesiest.

Let it go. Hit an October show. Dig the scene. And cheer for Gregg.

Does this sequence of events with Gregg remind anybody else of the shambles into which the band fell trying to record Win Lose or Draw...?....also seem to recall it took his older brother to convince Gregory to come back South from the Westin 1969 to sing for the band he (Duane) had put together...all in all seems miraculous they've made it as far as they have so kudos to Derek and especially Warren for being statesmen/diplomats/voices of reason here...and if you were at either of the March shows w/o him...welllll..

You've got to wonder what would have happened if Duane and Berry hadn't passed tragically. IMHO we wouldn't be celebrating the 45th Anniversary this year.
