I'm concerned he won't be able to complete the October run. He hasn't really completed any tours or runs this year. I attended one of the "Greg-less" shows this March and I'm a big Mule, Warren and TTB fan, but what I wanted (and didn't get) was an ABB show.

well..........

you did get an ABB show...

after all, the band is just more than gregg....

and fwiw---i was at the two gregg less shows in march and enjoyed them a ton.....

they were equally as good.......well, actually better---than some shows that had gregg at them....

and who nose how his health will be come october....

that, literally, is the $60,000 question...........

Sorry to add fuel to the fire but Gregg just cancelled some shows of his own due to illness. I know October is far away yet but the history this year with his health makes me wonder if it's not just a passing illnes I hope he is ok...

Yes, there are others members who are huge contributors, but Imho, w/o Gregg, well, that is just not an ABB show.

this was the source of many posts already. My point is that I want to see Greg with the ABB one more time and I'm concerned that his health might not hold out.

Great. And now on top of all his other health issues, he has injured his proboscis?

I'd agree. Fourth set of shows this year he's cancelled or postponed. If you remember someone posted an item from another site where they thought he was once again really Ill. I don't wish illness on anyone but maybe it's time to enjoy home life for him

Time to stop that shows are just as good without Greg Crap .we don't pay twice the value of the ticket to see Gregs keyboard player from his solo band . It doesn't matter if they pulled it off ,it false advertising .The Allmans Bros show with out the only Allman should be cancelled and the played ASAP . For every person living on a cloud that just loved the shows with out Greg there are 10 who were disappointed .The reason he is the only star who gets away with this and continues to book ,multiple dates without a break every few days ,is because of the lackeys who don't mind and don't voice there frustration and have let him do this year in and year out .These tours can be put together with more time off every 2 or 3 nights so he does have his rest or the time to party ,whatever he does. Its not like they don't always have plenty of time off and breaks during the touring year ,...You can love a band and still be critical of the things that need to be .

I waited till the last minute to get Mt.Jam ticks and I'm doing the same for Peachfest. Was not disappointed at the Mt.
But if he is still in hospital come Aug I'd be worried about the Peachfest shows cause of how long it takes him to bounce back.
Think he needs some of Keith Richards blood.
Can someine contact The Rolling Stones n see if that's possible????????

At the Beacon in 2012 and 2014, ticket holders didn't know Gregg wouldn't be there until the band walked out on stage and Warren made the announcement that Gregg was ill.

That sucks I feel for them.
Now ,I know he's in in the hospital or was. I also have knowledge that due to his past recovery timesand his med issues, along with the year he is having, a two night show may or may not be possible in Aug. If it is then I will be there.
I am Not even thinking past Peachfest.
If and only after peachfest then I might drive 10 hrs down to NYC. Until then not investing in any Beacon show.

Hate to say it but it is starting to feel like they will strap a deceased Gregg to the organ ala "El Cid" going into battle come October. I sure hope not - but I think he is much sicker that what is being released

I was at that final Beacon show last March. As a matter of fact, NOBODY mentioned Gregg's name. The band came on (Kofi at the keys) and played a great (albeit a jam style) show. There was never any announcement that Gregg wouldn't be performing.

I am a fan of all the musicians who were on that stage so I didn't bitch or seek a refund. I knew from this site that Gregg was absent the night before (something that none of the audience seated around me were aware of), so I didn't expect to see him play. There were some disappointed fans.

I enjoy the "one-off" ABB shows that I've seen over the years like this Gregg-less show and the Huntsville, AL show where Jack subbed for Derek. But I do understand the attitude and notion that without Gregg onstage, you're not getting the Allman Brother's Band.

it was announced during the day via official channels that gregg would not be performing that night....

the night before, warren did a statement before the music started....

i knew on the second night, before noon i believe, that gregg would not be there...........

and it was announced if one wanted a refund, it could be had........

i think you have this backwards-----for every ten people that liked the gregg less shows, you find one that didnt.....

and remind me----what have we let him do year in and year out?

there have only been a few gregg less shows over the years............if i had time to research it, id bet that one would find there have been many more dickey less shows than gregg less shows........

Yeah, they probably did make an announcement the night before. But if you're traveling - living in a hotel and possibly without internet, and possibly without phone contact to ABB aficionados - then you probably didn't get the word.

Pre-show at one of the cafes near the Beacon, I told several folks (whom I didn't know) about Gregg's absence the night before and that he wouldn't be onboard for tonight's show. I felt like some sort of Judas. The word hadn't gotten out. Not every ABB fan posts or lurks on this site. At the Beacon - pre-show, I told those sitting around me about the Gregg situation. Again, nobody had heard.

And as stated, at the show there was no mention by the band of Gregg's absence or that a refund could be sought if desired.

Again, I was okay with the show. I enjoyed it immensely! But I do see where some fans might have been a little less than fully happy with a Gregg-less Allman Brother's Band concert that they'd paid a premium to attend.

Peace.

Just a thought, This is not the Warren Haynes Band w/Gregg Allman on keys. If you enjoy the brothers w/o Gregg, good for you.

But it ain't The Allman Brothers Band.
